Is Dragon's Peak a TRU timed exclusive?

For one month, yes. Oh, and no guarantee on 3/21 I'm just speculating since they said it was coming out in March.

Luckily today we figured out my son's aliment, which was something so simple I'm pissed that it took so much time and a specialist to diagnose, so I won't be needing all these figures to satisfy him during doctor visits.

I stopped by TRU today and they had a sign in the Skylanders area that read that they would have new stock in on 3/21. Luckily I have that morning off and I will be stopping in to see what I can get. I'll go a bit early.

I too have that morning off and will be stopping by my local store that had that same sign up.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

My local Walmart had no singles, no 3-packs, but did have one each of the three Adventure Packs (Pirate/Darklight/Empire).

That was surprising.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Stopped by my local TRU and the same sign was up stating new stock would be in on 3/21. The store manager didn't seem to know for sure it would include Dragon's Peak, but he showed me a big 4' tall box that he said contained a new promotional display setup. I would assume that would mean Zook, Lightning Rod, Camo, Warnado and Wham-shell will be released.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I just saw this post on TRU FB:

Toys ''R'' Us: On March 21st all of our stores are expected to receive shipments of Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure single packs. Lightning Rod and Zook will be among the action figures available, but we cannot guarantee specific figures will be available in each store.....

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

My TRU only had singles and there was nothing new.

They had Eryptor, Bash, Hex, Stealth Elf, Whirlwind, Chop Chop, Sonic Boom, and a few others.

No Zook and no Lightning Rod.

They did limit it to one character per person and passed out tickets.

One guy was yelling at the worker that they were hoarding the new ones in the back for themselves. I thought they were going to remove him from the store.

Oh well, I walked out empty handed.

At least they started limiting purchases... BUT was that *one* as in "you can only purchase *one* out of all of these" *or* "you can only purchase one *each* of what we have"? I can fully understand the latter version but the former is just harsh.

Either way the guy doing the yelling was probably a whorder only there to grab "the good stuff" and pissed that he wasted his time with *zero* new figures and limits on the others. They should have ejected him.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

People are fucking animals. I was aware of the 1 figure limit before getting in line but I guess nobody else at my local store knew about it. Things took a turn.

They had only 4 figures to choose from at my location and they was another thing that triggered unnecessary rage. I heard a few people getting very shitty with employees but I'd imagine it'll get worse when they run out in an hour or so.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

We were able to get Zook and Lightning Rod. They also had Legendary Trigger Happy but due to the 1 per we had to put him back. They also had out the single Ignitor but we already had that one. No Adventure packs to be found.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Nice find, dsa shea. Nothing new at my TRU. Had lots of stock of the other characters. They did a great job of keeping things in order with everyone in a single file line and the whole Skylanders section was roped off, allowing 3 people at a time to go into the section. They did limit 1 of each character. So nothing new for me today. The store guy I talked to said Dragon's Peak was a definite "in stock" for Sunday, 3/25.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I called and was told that the Dragon's Peak Adventure pack is supposed to be a Sunday release and those that got it earlier were lucky that their store broke street date. I was also told that there would be a new 3 pack and if true those of you that missed out today might get lucky and get the 3 pack with Lightning Rod, Zook and maybe Ignitor for 10 bucks less than buying them all individually. I didn't need another Ignitor so I went ahead and grabbed the other two. I would be willing to help someone out if they are really having a hard time finding figures.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

The manager posting on CAG confirmed the 3/25 for Dragon's Peak. He said they have street date stickers on them.

You are partially correct. There will be a 3-pack with Lightning Rod & Zook, but the third character is Cynder.

The the final triple pack is Ignitor, Camo & Warnado.

I'm not sure if it was one per person or per figure. When I knew for sure they didn't have anything new I just left.

Yeah, that guy was a douche. He wasn't being very courteous.

Nice job dsa_shea and thanks for the info on Dragon's Peak. Unfortunately I can't get to TRU on Sunday morning, so I'll have to hunt for it another day!

God, these things. I'll be back on the hunt for the new characters but I had found all of the previous ones through patience and some internet searching.

I can't tell if Activision is limiting supplies on purpose or they really can't make them fast enough to satisfy demand. I would have thought they'd be flooded with the old figures by now.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Nice pics dsa_shea! I swung by WM this AM just in case. They *did* have a few of the wave 3 figures out but nothing else. I'm sure those are gone by now. There's no TRU within 75 miles of me so I'll have to wait... bummer... Now I just have to decide whether or not it's worth a daily *early* trip by WM for the next few weeks... double bummer (I *hate* going to WM).

My feelings and impressions exactly! By now I fully expected everything but the latest releases to be overflowing in the stores! It truly appears the "limited supplies" are intentional.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

My wife was pissed that she and my son went to TRU this morning. They handed out the tickets but then had nothing new in the store. All old figures that my son already had except for Bash which he was happy to pick up though quite disappointed there wasn't more to the "big" release. No adventure packs nor legendary figures either.

My wife said that she was in nerd hell while standing in line. She said the below 10 crowd was okay but the tweens were quite obnoxious spouting their nonsense Skylander knowledge the entire time. Glad it was her and not me. I hate telling children to shut the fuck up.

So can anyone tell me which of the figures below have actually been released in single packs? We seem to have hit a wall with what my son is missing. He needs Voodood, Slambam, Wham Shell, Ignitor, Sunburn, Warnado, Lightning Rod, Camo, & Zook.

I am tired of stopping in every damn Walmart, TRU, Gamestop, BB, etc. hoping to luck up on his remaining ones. Are the Legendary ones only available at TRU? Luckily he doesn't seem as high on those which is a good thing since I have yet to lay eyes on one.

The only one I know of on your list is:

Voodood

Slam Bam is available but only in the Empire of Ice Adventure Pack.

The next wave (what people were looking for at TRU) should include: Zook, and Lightning Rod.

Sunburn will only be in the Dragon's Peak Adventure Pack, also supposed to be in this wave.

Ignitor, Warnado, Wham Shell, and Camo are rumored to be in the "final" wave around Easter or early Summer.

I'm not 100% on all this and much is from memory rather than research so someone correct me where I'm wrong.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

My anger toward this whole situation is that they keep dropping the price of the damn starter kits and therefore you keep introducing waves of new owners and figure hunters into an already chaotic mess. I'm sure stores love having the figures sell like hotcakes but after witnessing the extra employees they had in the store today because of this hold on products I can't see this being the way stores want to run.

The 2 people in the front of my line today were a little girl and her dad. I was 3rd in line. They each got a ticket but the employees were very strict on the policy that only 1 person at a time would be allowed at the figure display, which was dumb because they had 2 other temp display areas done up. The little girl walks up to the display which as I said contained 4 figures....and she froze. I'm not sure if she was overwhelmed by the amount of figures or underwhelmed by the choices but she just stood there and the employees would not let her father join her at first. She would pick a figure then walk back to her dad only to have him say they already owned in or he had bought it for her and he just hadn't given it to her yet. I felt bad when they left empty handed but there was no reason the employees could not of let them shop together to speed the process up.

The only other story reminded of when Elaine on Seinfeld would say shut up and push somebody. Some lady was on her phone talking about the line and heard someone say it was one figure per person. She yelled so loudly I'm sure everyone in the store heard her and I was prepared to try and catch the guy just in case.
