Game Spot downgraded the game for being misogynistic. Meh.

It was written by a woman, what do you expect?

Exerpt from the review:

Characters constantly spout lines that glorify male sexuality while demeaning women, and the billboards and radio stations of the world reinforce this misogyny, with ads that equate manhood with sleek sports cars while encouraging women to purchase a fragrance that will make them “smell like a bitch.” Yes, these are exaggerations of misogynistic undercurrents in our own society, but not satirical ones. With nothing in the narrative to underscore how insane and wrong this is, all the game does is reinforce and celebrate sexism. The beauty of cruising in the sun-kissed Los Santos hills while listening to “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood turns sour really quick when a voice comes on the radio that talks about using a woman as a urinal.

Considering GTA IV got a 10, I don't put much into game scores. It's about the actual review.

I haven't been this hyped about a game since Diablo II lol

I'm not even going to do missions, I'm just going to free roam for days.

There is no reason to show up at Gamestop at 10. They say that every time and I always just go right before midnight. Believe me you don't want to be standing around with the majority of the people who show up at 10 any longer than you have to.

Do you still need to go in the store before midnight if you already have it paid in full? The gamefaqs guys still say I need to get my receipt stamped or some kind of bullshit.

"I can imagine, 200 years from now, like our reading of Dickens, the game will be regarded as a catalog of our contemporary travails, an accelerated reality bearing more truth than just gazing at our own reflection."
From the sessler review.

Any mentions of differences between the 2 versions? I mean, besides being on 2 discs for the 360, etc.

His one complaint is one I seem to have with all these games. When I'm driving I never get to enjoy the world because I'm too busy following my GPS. I wish they could integrate it better into the driving.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

ugh. I knew it!
I just wish it didn't take so long to lose the cops entirely -- having to engage in stealth for protracted periods of time, just because a cop saw you jack a car, can grow a little tiresome.
I swear, it's like two step forwards and one step back with these assholes.

I dont see any reason you would need to. It may take you longer to get out of there if you show up at midnight because then you have to wait behind all the people who for some reason have been hanging out inside of Gamestop for 2 hours, but the way I look at it is it is a midnight opening, not a 10pm opening so I show up at midnight (or a little before).

There are reduce star cheats, although I do agree..the cops look super agressive, maybe you can use difficulty level which will lower the cops agro?

I mentioned earlier in this thread that I went and installed all my old GTA games. I hadn't really touched them in years. But as I went to play them, I could remember the cities like the back of my hand. I was actually amazed how much I remembered about the GTA III and San Andreas maps (Vice City threw me a bit for some reason).

But I was always the type that liked to explore almost as much as I liked playing missions. So I got to know the cities very well...kinda like real life in that sense.

My advice, tour the city, get to know it. Then worry about the GPS.
