That's what I love about you guys...always accommodating new players.

I don't really care much for squad death match...something about the dynamic that doesn't sit right with me. I think it's probably the mode that rewards strategy and teamwork the least...but it can be good for some douchey fun.

Probably my favorite SDM match was rolling with Alfredo Sauce, who's a pretty funny dude anyway, and I spent the whole map following him as a medic while he knifed people. If one of them happened to get him, I'd light them up and revive him, and we were rolling again. He had some absurd number of knife kills that round, and they just got progressively funnier and funnier.

The other night, nicholls, ogsoley, and I pretty much felt like the Atacama Desert was a squad death match because it sure didn't become about capturing objectives after they rolled our team in deployment.

Been a fun week of playing with people a little bit each night. I keep trying to put down the Carl Gustav and play other classes but when the going gets tough and a bunch of tanks roll our way I have to spawn in as an Engineer and take 'em out. When I started playing Recon last week, I was sure I would be able to rack up a lot of Combat Excellence Pins by sittin' back and snipin' away. Turns out, when I pop back in as Engineer and rocket my way to stardom, I earn more CEPs that way! I don't have a lot of Ace Pins (32, I think) and I'm proudest of the last 15 or so which have all been as the Engineer class and my hard work with the Gustav.

I've never laughed as hard in this game as I did the night I discovered the Gustav...just ragdolling dudes and getting progressively more amused.

I always find my way back to the medic, but every now and then, you just have to splode some dudes.

Nom nom nom nom nom...

Good night last night, finally finished my anti-tank mine kills, so, gold star and insignia for that, another gold star with my 9A-91, 3rd grenade gold, heavy vehicle gold, and, ended up 4 kills away from plat on my RPG, honestly, I was thisclose to playing until I had the last four, even though it was already after midnight and I had to work this morning. Somehow this game still hooks me.

I've been playing hardcore almost exclusively lately, probably to the chagrin of Spatula and Ogs as I've really been digging the differences between that and regular. I don't have the same feeling that I died because of the 'level 50 advantage.' I feel like I've earned my death, most of the time...

Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I would be all about hardened...if it had the spotting mechanic.

I would-- but you can't. Squad management is broken thus far in the beta.

I've tried joining a friend, inviting a friend, and being part of a squad to join a game together. None of those three options have worked.

I have, however, had luck hearing my friends on my headset... even though they aren't in my squad... and then neither my actual squad or me can hear each other.

But yeah, if it works, I would love that.

i started the DL last night and I know Nic DL'd it too. if it is up later, maybe we can play some. If not, I really need to shoot some things, so I'm playing something tonight.

Well you can join games with friends in BF3 now. Don't know about forming a squad. None of you misfits were playing.

But after another 30 minutes with this game I had to quit again. Righ now the game has devolved into sparring matches between assholes that have leveled up to 20+ playing the beta. The same fucking map. Exploiters, squatters and snipers gave taken over. At least the few games that I joined tonight. So not only us it not fun because of the damage it is not fun because you're clearly the only asshole that doesn't know every inch of the map.

IMHO they tried to do waaaaay too much with this game and ended up in some kind of awful purgatory between Call of Douchey and Bad Company. I wanted to give it another try. But unless they address sone of these balance issues this just doesnt play like Battlefield. Never mind the graphical glitches and other technical issues.

My 42nd Ace Pin was well-earned tonight. I was on Panama Canal hardcore with non-talking randoms in my squad, eight-on-eight, and was in a tight race for Ace with a guy on the other team. He and I both kept blowing up tanks and taking objectives over and over, as well as occasionally killing one another, too. I kept losing points because I was blowing up tanks with C4 (last insignia I'm hunting) but not getting far away enough so I ended up suiciding over and over (also what kept me from nabbing a Combat Elite Pin). With that in mind, I think the things that brought me over the edge were that I kept marking my objectives over and over, laid ammo over and over, and since he was playing engineer I was getting swifter tank kills with the C4 than he was with a rocket launcher.

Plus, I blew up his tank once. That was awesome.

It was hairy for a while but I squeaked it out by well over 500 points in the last few tickets. That was fun, to have an active Race for Ace like that.

Increasingly tempted to cancel my BF3 preorder and just stick to BC2...damn shame if that turns out to be the case.
