re: Battlefield Talk
I'll be picking up Battlefield 3 first thing in the morning. I have all the others for ps3, although I don't think I've ever played with anyone on here... yet.

It'll be cool to have a new person join us, 19K.
After chess swapped Post #1 and Post #3 stuff, I've also made Post #2 a placeholder for BF3 stats.
Do we want to use the BF3 stats based on the website we used for BFBC2 or do we want to see what the whole Battlelog thing turns out to be, in terms of stats graphics?
I also wonder if we want to start a clan if Battlelog supports that; either DVD or perhaps Chw may be of interest to many in the group.

Someone please create "CHW" clan in BF3 ASAP. I love that that's a thing.
Plenty of time for stats feeds to develop, but this is from the same folks as before: http://bf3stats.com/

re: Battlefield Talk
OP updated with best info I have right now on BF3.
I'm just gonna say right now that I'd like to still play BFBC2 every now and then. I feel like I got cut short with the deployment and barely got to play Vietnam at all. I also really love some of those maps.
So I'll probably still play it a bit...feel free to join if you see me.

I've been sucked into NHL lately so I haven't been spending any time with BF... sad but true. I'll pick back up again with BF3.
(and I haven't even opened Batman... ugh)

Just about to go to bed. Awesome first night. Not too many glitches. Ogs rocked the ace pin a couple of times and we won Ace Squad something like 3 or 4 times in a row. Rock on. Game kicks ass.

Official stats tracker here: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/
The progress of people added as friends on there will show up in the "battle feed" on the main screen.
The game itself took a little acclimating to, but it was, in fact, an awful lot of fun. I'm looking forward to Spatula and others joining tomorrow. Looking forward to playing with a full squad of buddies.

re: Battlefield Talk
So what's the bottom line on this one?
Hopefully, it plays for the most part just like BC2...and hopefully it doesn't lose too much in transition from PC.

re: Battlefield Talk
The color scheme, customization, multiple types of shots per gun (3-round burst, etc) take a little getting used to, but the core gameplay feels very much the same-- and I can't wait to try it out with a whole squad of buddies. I've only played conquest tonight.
Issues: Some server lag/stuttering, chat is currently not great-- lots of drop outs, squad management is buggy, and I ended up inside some glitchy destroyed objects.

re: Battlefield Talk
So it's still squad based? Talk to and spawn on 3 squadmates?
I'd actually be kind of happy if that were the case, as I like the feeling of being 4 guys running around amid a chaotic environment...and and it's funny when you hear things like "Hey, flip is a blueberry!"

It's still squad-based, though I'm unsure it chat is just between squadmates. The beta sometimes let friends in different squads still chat.

re: Battlefield Talk
One of the last times I played (which admittedly was like a month ago), I dropped into a random squad and then a few minutes later I saw one of our DVDTalkers running around as a blueberry as he must have followed me into the game. IIRC it was Spatula... because I said out loud: "Spatula's a blueberry!" My wife was on the couch next to me reading. She lowered the book and just stared at me. I could tell she was trying desperately to put that statement into context.

re: Battlefield Talk

So you can talk to the whole team...but can still only spawn on your squad, right?
That's my biggest beef with having recon douches on my team...limits the places you can effectively spawn by 33% per sniper. It wouldn't be so bad if you had 11 options.

You make an excellent point. You will all be treated to the sweet sound of Mike Lange calling the Pens game tonight. Word of warning I might get violent since this is a game against the punkbitch Islanders.
