re: Battlefield Talk

I had some time to burn and threw the game in on a lark. Jumped in a couple of games, saw Ogs, got a couple of new dogtags, aggressively sniped and spotted enemies, revived some teammates, defibed a couple of enemies (so sweet - wish I could have heard that guy say NNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!) and wrecked an enemy squad with the M60. I think Ogs and I had the highest score on our team.

If you had only blown some shit up, this would have been a perfect day of BC2.

re: Battlefield Talk

I'm actually getting a lot better at this. I owe it to getting a new TV and buying some FPSfreaks for my controller. Helps with my poor aiming.

On average my KDR is around 1.00 and my SPM is almost 200 a game. If I wasn't so close to lvl50 I'd start a new account to fix my overall stats.

Haven't seen much of you guys on but I've been playing late at night. I'm on a shotgun kick right now since it pisses most players off and it's a nice way to counter those spray and pray medics that seem to be so popular now. LMAO

Funniest thing. My squad and I kept our tank alive for an entire round at Laguna Presa. We just rode around and were tank whores the whole game. Couldn't believe no one could C4 or RPG us out of the damn thing.

Did you guys want to plan a private match for this coming week? Maybe tuesday around 9:30? We'd need eight committed people.

I bought the weapon/vehicle/outfit unlocks from PSN. I just don't have the patience to unlock everything. I wish CoD had a similar option.

I'd love to get him in on some of our matches since we were running the perfect medic tandem and winning best squad on every map.

Remind me: what's the benefit of a private match again? If we were rolling two squads in a public match we SHOULD win based on organization alone.

Can't figure that one either...other than taking each other's dogtags. There's a trophy for that.

I think you can still only communicate with your squad.

I always enjoyed the way it used to go when we would gradually take over a server.

Organised goofiness.

We can play some squad deathmatch with set parameters. ie - knives only or explosives only . Plus I'd like to see what kind of versatility the custom matches give you. I love the versatility of private matches in Warhawk, CoD and Red Faction.

I should be able to get on later on (1030ish)

I'm not aware of any real level of customization in BC2, certainly nothing on the level of CoD or Red Faction, and Warhawk only works because we can all talk to each other.

BC2 really shines as a game where two or three people can set up a squad and have a good time, and other folks can wander in and out at their liesure. Where it shines in its simplicity, I don't think it has the flexibility to do what you have in mind. Other than hardcore vs. normal, BC2 is what it is...but fortunately, it's fucking epic!

I do think it would be fun to have a private server for squad death match and squad rush so that way you are competing against guys you know, which would be fun. Not all that interested in just tooling around though. I would be in for squad DM and rush if that is what we are signing up for

re: Battlefield Talk

fun times last night. We had R2, Cruz, murray, and myself on a squad with ogs on another squad. I actually did very well last night and moved my k/d from .61 to .70. Hopefully I can raise my squad play. 18% is embarrassing.

Squad DM and Rush would be my preferred match types.

I did some serious work with all 4 classes last night and had one match with 6 dogtags collected. Destroyed a couple of tanks with Carl Gustav along with 2 jeeps that were barrelling down at me. Sniped a wookie with CG. Only had 1 match with a negative K/D

You raise your squad play by resupplying, healing, reviving, spotting and repairing vehicles of your squad mates

re: Battlefield Talk

nic can't drive any fucking better in BFBC2 than in Warhawk...that stupid bastard was driving a dunebuggy and i spawned in it and was like "shit, what did i just do."
He hit every fucking thing in town and then parked in front of an enemy tank and got out.
Then I 'sploded.
asshole.

also, I suck at being a medic. my k/d was like 3/26 when running a medic. I had to go back to being an engineer. It was making me nuts.

Just a quick pop-in to say 'hi,' that I miss you all, and I updated the leader boards. See you and your dogtags in a few weeks!

re: Battlefield Talk

Who is going to host the squad games tonight? 9:30 for some private matches, maybe some public games before and/or after? Though I'm devastated that Warhawk is being bumped, I am looking forward to finally playing some BFBC2 with the DVDTalk clan. I'm not very good, but I bought the powerful weapons so hopefully I will be of some use. If you are unfortunate enough to draw the short straw and get me on your team, then feel free to bark orders at me and I will do my best to follow them (if I feel like it).
