I played 2 first...and enjoyed it so much I went back and played 1. I don't care much about graphics, but if they bother you the first one is not much more than a xbox game....still a blast to play....
Some people felt the first one was harder, with less checkpoints...but I did not find that to be the case....Saints Row games have always been a bit on the easy side...

Re: Saints Row: The Third
Without dragging this too much off topic. Is there even a need to pre-order games anymore? With the last few games I've bought Day 1, I've just showed up at the store and bought it. Can't remember the last time I've ever run into anything being "sold out".
Yeah I'm definitely looking forward to picking this up...the 2nd one was a lot of fun. I kind of got a little bored with it after doing the Ultor missions..you could only do crowd control and demo derby so many time before it starts getting repetitive but those were only minor complaints.

Pre-orders are really not necessary to secure a release day copy, unless it's a limited release of some kind. If you're talking about AAA titles, there will always be plenty in stock on release day.

I only pre-order if Amazon is giving away $20 credit.

Re: Saints Row: The Third
I enjoyed the first one quite a bit when it was released. Played through over half of it and then got caught up in something else (and so on,) so I went back and finished it last year. It didn't age incredibly well, but was still quite fun.
Saints Row 2 is sitting in my backlog. I need to get around to it before this one comes out. I've heard really good things.

I hated the second one, but I played it so long ago that I can't remember why. I just remember finding it frustrating and not very fun. This one, however, looks pretty fucking awesome. Definitely looking forward to picking this one up.

There are a few Chinese massage parlors that can take care of that...
One concern I have about the game
Everything is suppose to be unlocked and powered up from the start. Part of the fun of games like this is the RPG-like slow building of your characters. If Fallout 3 had you as level 20 with all your perks from the start it would take away some of the fun. Maybe you are only going to have some stuff unlocked and you are still going to be able to power yourself up...I hope so...but all the talk I have heard so far acts like you are fully powered up from the start...

Re: Saints Row: The Third
Volition has announced that Hulk Hogan will join the cast of Saints Row: The Third.
The wrestling legend will be joined by former porn star Sasha Grey, who recently appeared in Entourage and Steven Soderberg's The Girlfriend Experience.
Hogan will play Angel DeLaMuerte, a wrestler who teams up with the Saints in seeking revenge against an ex-tag team partner. Meanwhile, Grey will play one of the game's main antagonists as one of two sisters who run the Syndicate Empire.
Daniel Dae Kim, star of Lost, will reprise his role as Johnny Gat, the chief lieutenant of the Third Street Saints from Saints Row 2.

So, we'll have a Latino character, brother, voiced by Hulk Hogan, and an ex-porn star whom displays emotions only when she has the dildo bat shoved up her butt.
