Re: Saints Row: The Third

Health was the first thing I upgraded. It's pretty much the first thing I upgrade in every game.

I don't know why you'd play this game on anything but casual. There are no difficulty-based achievements.

Maybe some people want it to be somewhat challenging. I always play on normal or medium difficulty regardless of achievements.

Re: Saints Row: The Third

This just doesn't seem like the kind of game you'd want to be challenged in though. And if you did, why would anyone upgrade their health?

Re: Saints Row: The Third

I didn't really think about it like that. I just always pick the medium difficulty. I will say that in GTA4 I would re-load my game every time I died so that I didn't have any "deaths" on my record. In SR3 I don't care. I die, I re-spawn at a hospital and continue on my way... in fact, I haven't even looked at the % complete or any statistics for this game. I never really did that in GTA4 either though. I might have to look at it sometime though.

For this game though, it seems that even on easy you would still hit some tough situations. Those skater Deckers are tough to get a bead on, and they were the ones that always took me out in that level.

Re: Saints Row: The Third

I will say once you upgrade your character all the way it takes the fun out of it a bit...you are a god...no matter what the difficulty..

I hope the dlc is good...and NOT 1-2 hours long like the dlc for Saints Row 2...

Re: Saints Row: The Third

My understanding is that you're paying 1600 points for the four DLC packs and that's that. I don't think they're selling them piece by piece...

I thought it added a bit of a fun. You can destroy everything and not even get moved or thrown. It was pretty awesome.

Re: Saints Row: The Third

I'd pay $20 for the final piece of DLC being you can destroy the entire city, building by building.

Looks like this will be 560 points on its own, if you don't have the season pass.

Re: Saints Row: The Third

Finished this over the weekend -- gotta say I was slightly let down by the overall story but the gameplay is enormous and more than makes up for it.

I planned to 100% this game but given some of the requirements I think I'll just finish all the DLC and patiently wait for SR4.

Re: Saints Row: The Third

I finished playing through the new DLC. It isn't bad, but it's really just four new types of activities, one of which is just a variation on the original Genki activity. The activities are enjoyable, especially Yarngasm, but there are only two instances of each (if I remember correctly). You can get through it in about 90 minutes. I'm hoping that the next pieces of DLC have a little more in the way of plot/story than Genki Bowl. If you have the Season Pass, then obviously you're going to play this. Otherwise, you may want to hold off and see what the next DLC is like, rather than spending $7 on this.

If you're still in the middle of the game and you pick up this DLC then it's perfectly fine and fits right in. If you've already consumed every little thing the game has to offer (like me) and are desperately craving more content, it's disappointing.

Re: Saints Row: The Third

This first dlc is the reason why you NEVER buy a season pass before you know what you are getting. I know some got the pass free, but if you paid 20 bucks for it...and the three dlc packs you get are all like this...you did not get a good deal...

He must not realize that many people that have bought his game(s) have waited until they were much cheaper to do so. It amazes me that there are people that believe that if this happened they would see more people line up to pay full price for titles. More likely they would see a good chunk of gamers walk away.

Hilarious that a company who is on the verge of being de-listed from the NASDAQ still doesn't get their customers.

I have been waiting for this game to drop in price. I think maybe I just won't buy it at all now.
