Re: Saints Row: The Third
There definitely was more to do in SR2, but a lot of the "activites" were repeated in SR3. A few were left out, MMA being probably the most notable. Also SR2 forced you to do the activites moreso than this one does. You actually had to do activities to build up your respect meter to a certain point before it would let you do the next story mission, which was kind of annoying at times.

I just started the alternate path and it's obviously the cannon ending.
Anyhoo, off to beat the alternate mission path.

FInally finished the
mission path. Glad I left it for last as it indeed is the more satisfying of the two paths. ABsolutely loved how it ended (even if the ending scene was rather brief) and it really left me wanting to tackle SR4 already.
It's a shame they didn't include a Game+ option as I would love to wreak havock during all the missions with my level 50 character.

I never played the first two but just wrapped up the main campaign of the third. That was both awesome and absolutely nuts. Are the first two worth playing?

But man that game has some weird tonal shifts in it. Do not expect the wacky happy fun time you had in The Third.

Two is kind of fun after playing the third one. When you play in that order, the 2nd seems like one of those direct to video sequels for a big budget movie you really love.

Re: Saints Row: The Third
I'm new to the Saints Row franchise, having played through Saints Row 1 & 2 over the last couple months. I just started the 3rd game, been playing for an hour or so. Is it just me or is the map a WHOLE lot smaller than the 2 previous games? So far there seems to be less of everything. Smaller map, fewer activities and shops, etc.

The remaster has been remastered! Free Xbox Series / PS5 upgrade coming next week.
(I think the performance/beauty mode is a typo and is meant to reference the Series S.)
Excellent news has just dropped, Saints! On May 25, Saints Row: The Third Remastered will bring the mayhem to Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5. This version will also be free to all current owners of the game, and will equal the ultra settings on PC.
Improvements made to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 version include a framerate boost to 60 FPS and dynamic 4K resolution, whilst Xbox Series X players can choose between Performance (60 FPS 1080p) and beauty (30FPS, 4K) modes. Of course this version will also take advantage of the SSDs in the new consoles to serve much faster loading times. Plus, by popular request, we have added Saints Purple to the glow colour on the DualSense controller.
To add to the Saints news, we can confirm that Saints Row: The Third Remastered will be available on Good Old Games on May 22, launching alongside the Steam version.

They have been. Volition's parent company said in 2019 that it was "deep in development" and apparently started as soon as Agents of Mayhem dropped in 2017. I've gotta think that we'll see it in one of the E3-style presentations next month.
