Best news I've heard about this game yet!
the sex scenes in the first one gave them free advertising on fox news channel. gay sex will probably result in horrible don't buy this stories on every cable news channel and half the churches in the US. they will sell millions of copies the first day

I agree, and I wasn't trying to say that they're not going to include that option and those scenes in the game. I was saying that I think it's fairly obvious that the image of a forum post from a supposed Bioware staffer saying the game is essentially going to be retitled Brokeback Asteroid is a fake.

I hope "why can't I quit you?" is in the dialogue wheel.

Not really a fan of the live action there.

None of the early marketing is swaying my excitement either way, but it really doesn't have to.

Weird. I don't feel like that works as well as some of the Halo live action commercials. Then again I thought those were better than the last game.

Well there is a movie in the works. It's been in the planning stages for over a year, I think. But there's no word if it'll follow Shepard's story or be like the books and cover events concurrent with the games. Since Bioware is apparently closely involved, I'm guessing the latter.

Nothing terribly exciting but here's some gameplay footage:

Re: Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 following the trend and includes multiplayer. I'm not a fan of this if it takes away gameplay from the single player experience. Why does every damn game have to do this?

Re: Mass Effect 3

If the single player game is still top notch, then I'm okay with it. They're trying to keep people playing the game instead of trading it in once they finished the story.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Why is anyone at all concerned with that? Bioware isn't going to drop the ball on the "conclusion" to this saga just because they found a way to put in MP.

Most recently in my mind, neither AC:B nor Dead Space 2 suffered because of it.

and 5 hours of coop missions separate from the main campaign could be amazing...

Re: Mass Effect 3

I just got Mass Effect 2 but I haven't played 1. Storywise, does it continue where the 1st one left off?
Do I need to search for some sort of "Mass Effect 1" summary before I start playing 2?

There's a downloadable comic for ME2 that's interactive and allows you to make the major decisions that affect ME2.

That said, for a more "enriching" experience, I would play the first game before tackling the second. Also, decisions in ME1 that had little to no effect whatsoever in ME2 will have consequences in ME3.

Re: Mass Effect 3

I have a PS3 and I just figured out that ME1 is only available on the Xbox. I guess that solves my problem.

Yup. Totally go for the interactive comic.

Also, ME3 will have an interactive comic to cover the events of ME2. If they're smart, they'll also recap major events in ME1 that will affect ME3 directly.

Re: Mass Effect 3

After watching the initial cut scene and playing through the first bit of gameplay in Mass Effect 2 on PS3, those who have a Cerberus Network code will experience the interactive comic, Genesis.
So I assume I get a code with the game (ordered but has not arrived yet) which allows me to download that comic from this "Cerberus Network"? Is that available through the PSN store???
