Re: Mass Effect 3

that's how it was with mine. there was a code that activated the comic and a bunch of other stuff that I didn't understand at the time (or now).

If you log in at http://www.social.bioware.com, you should be able to see what DLC you already have unlocked.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Back to the subject of ME3, I plan on pre-ordering the CE for PC but so far I'm in a pickle. The only people that carry the CE online are BestBuy, Gamestop, Amazon, Origin, and PlayAsia. BestBuy refuses to ship to Puerto Rico. After the Deus Ex debacle, I'm leery of Gamestop. Amazon doesn't accept PayPal and I don't want to use my credit card (for anything other than an emergency). Origin defaults me to Spain even though I'm in Puerto Rico (therefor the USA store should be the one to apply). And PlayAsia still doesn't list the price they'll charge for the CE.

On another ME3 topic, I really hope they offer 360 controller support. And I hope they do it like Deus Ex:HR that had two different user interfaces depending on wether you played with a keyboard & mouse or the 360 controller.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Confirmed that the MP/co-op missions in ME3 will only be unlockable through an online pass code included with new copies of the game, or purchased separately with used copies.

Imagine that.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Won't affect me in the slightest since I rarely touch MP or co-op in the games I purchase.

I just want to know about what DICE contributed to the audio of this game. I hope we get something as badass as the Home Cinema option in the Battlefield games.

You shouldn't have to download the comic on the PS3 game. Its built-in since ME1 never made it to PS3. ( I didn't have to download it when I played but I did connect to the network to activate some of the DLC like Shadow Broker)
The comic is almost a requirement becuase you have to make decisions from ME1.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Bioware announced a demo will be released in January.

Sounds like the SP can be downloaded by anyone, but the MP demo will require the Battlefield 3 disc.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Although the multiplayer will apparently enrich the storyline of the singleplayer game, I'm none too interested for some reason.

It has since been taken down, but several users on Neogaf posted screenshots and stuff. It does contain some info that I find very exciting. It is revealed that there is a combat mode, RPG mode and story mode. Combat mode is for people who want all decisions made for them. aka LOSER mode!

I dont feel that there are any major spoilers, but some might be inclined to proceed with caution.

RPG mode is the "standard" Mass Effect gameplay mode.

Well, they're getting better. The last time BioWare released a beta to the public, they packaged it as a retail release and called it "Dragon Age II."

Looks like the game Resistance 3 should have been.

I'd have preferred the game Mass Effect 3 should have been (i.e., an RPG) rather than what appears to be Gears 4.

Still a day one purchase, of course.

Mass Effect was always and RPG/shooter hybrid so I don't mind one bit. And the ME trailers have always emphasized combat over storytelling. I'm sure we'll get plenty of RPG elements in this one.
