Re: Mass Effect 3

I have a question about importing game decisions from the first 2 games. If you don't have a save game from ME2, does it give you a little decision questionnaire? For example (spoilers for just the first 2 ME games):
Spoiler:
what did you do with that spider queen alien, who did you send on the suicide mission, save/destroy Collector base, who you have an ongoing romance with, who survived the last mission, etc.

I had a hard-drive crash since I finished ME2, losing my old saves I'd hate to be stuck with stupid pre-determined decisions for the big finale ... but I'm not sure I have the time to replay ME 1 and 2 just for that.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Finished. All I have left is 5000 kills, and I think I saw 3500 pop up toward the end so I am not that far off.

Fantastic game with an ending that left me a little down. Unlike the ending of two, which got the blood going, this one just felt like a bunch of good ideas smashed together in a meeting.

Still I think I like this game just as much as 2, if not more. I will need time to let it sink in. Level design was improved...and some of the story and sequences were amazing.

I found the game to be on the easy side while playing infiltrator. Cloak and the Black Widow equal win button. I could take down a brute with 7 rounds on insanity. When they started for me I just vanished and changed cover. Easy.

Spoiler for end boss on Rannoch

Spoiler:
wtf...that was the stupidest thing of all time. It was not fun. It was not a challenge other than to see if you could stand running back and forth over and over again as you get in a second of targeting. Fuck you..

Spoiler on the ending

Spoiler:
I killed all synthetics...fuck em....I guess I was still alive at the end because I took a breath? LOL...and since all three games apparently were actually a story some old dude told his grandson...I guess it is possible that none of what you played actually happened that way...and after all the amazing voice work why in the hell would they let the WORST VOICE ACTORS IN HISTORY do the boy and the old man at the end?

fantastic ride though...

I just got to the part where you get

Re: Mass Effect 3

Finally beat it. Wow, what a great ride!

Spoiler:
I chose the middle-ground ending and I found it extremely satisfying, if bitter-sweet. I didn't want to destroy all synthetics since I spent all that time trying to get the Geth and the Quarians to get along, proving the Catalyst wrong. Not to mention EDI and Jeff.

I've just viewed the other endings on YouTube, and while I can understand some players frustrations, I thought it was a great comment on predetermination. No matter the choices you make, some things in life are inevitable. While I would've been totally happy seeing Shepard meeting up with Miranda after the war and living it up on a beach, that was never how this game was going to end. Anyone who thought we'd get a happy ending really didn't get what the series was about

The Penny Arcade Report has a great write up on why the ending was satisfying and worthy of the series: http://penny-arcade.com/report/edito...he-series-mass

Spoiler:
I didn't get the "the games were just a story told by a grandfather" from that ending. The text at the end explained that Shepard had become a legend, and that's what I think was the point of that epilogue. He lives on through the stories told generations later. He will always be known for what he had done to save the galaxy.

You're totally right though, that voice acting was AWFUL.

I don't recall that point in the game. What was the last task/mission you've done?

That terrible voice actor at the end was Buzz Aldrin. Watch your credits, people!

There's a pretty easy way to get those last kills if you're like me and just want to be done with the game after finishing everything else:
Spoiler:

1. Start a new game
2. Import ME2 save file, choose Engineer class
3. Change difficulty to Narrative
4. Put all skill points into Turret, Combat Drone, and Inferno
5. Play until the part in the tutorial where you're told to take cover (this is the first group of Cannibals, second group of enemies in the game after the Husks)
6. Do not take cover
7. Send turret and combat drone over to do your work
8. Browse forum, watch porn, etc. while your mechanical friends rack up kills for you, you're unable to die due to difficulty setting, and game does not progress past infinite enemy spawn because you're not doing what it tells you
9. Look up every few minutes to send new turret and drone over, spam inferno if you want to make it go even faster
10. Win

Or you could just play many hundreds of waves of horde if you'd prefer.

Hmm, I think it was

stopping the Genophage, unless that was a side mission, too

Pretty certain that's when
Spoiler:
you're on the Geth Dreadnaught, trying to bring it down from the inside. The warmongering Quarian admirals just start blasting it.

Spoiler:
I thought the series was about that your choices determine your end, and that the end is not preordained. So if you make great choices, you should have a great ending, not a ending that Bioware pigeonholes you into.

You actually
Spoiler:
killed him? In my paragon playthrough, he sacrificed himself to cure the genophage. In my renegade playthrough, I talked him into cooperating with me to trick the krograns.

Yup.

Spoiler:
Motherfucker wouldn't listen, so I had to bust a cap in his ass as he walked towards the elevator.
