Yeah, I'm backing out as well. I'll come back to this thread after I've completed my current playthrough.

I'm outraged at his lack of proofreading.

It still spoils the experience. And putting achievements on the disc for DLC content really burns me up.

I can't figure out why people are up in arms about the final hours app. Apparently it's just a bunch of behind the scenes stuff.

Because the destruction of Bioware is the only thing that is going to satisfy most of these idiots at this point. Bioware is now the devil.

Because it shows that Bioware pretty much made the endings

Bioware promises one thing, and gives you something entirely different than what was promised, AFTER you had handed the money for that product. They deserve everything they get.

Just wrapped it up. Only thing I have left now is 5,000 kills, which I still haven't gotten after 2 and a half playthroughs, lots of do-over sections on Insanity, and more than my fill of the snoozefest multiplayer. I am around 4,300 though.

I wouldn't classify it as easy by any means, especially the last third of the game, but I'm sure there are some who would disagree.

Sentinel worked pretty well. I mainly wanted to try something different since I hadn't used that build before. Also because Overload is damn near essential with all the shielded and synthetic enemies in the game, and I wanted some biotic powers to go with it. The only drawback was that sentinel has no default ammo powers, so you're almost required to use your bonus power choice for that.

I'll add that a 100% renegade playthrough is a lot of fun and a very different experience from a 100% paragon version of the story, especially if you import a character from the previous games who was also a total bitch.

Everything they get? Really?

The hatred and vitriol directed at that female writer a couple weeks back? Death threats. Demands for a new free ending?

Aside for the last 5 minutes of the game, Mass Effect 3 is everything it was "promised" to be. Not liking the ending doesn't enable you to be an asshole towards other human beings.

By that logic, Peter Molyneux should've been killed a dozen times by now

No, basically 99% of what they gave you is what they promised. The ending might leave a bad taste in your mouth since that's the last thing you experience, but they mostly gave you what they promised, which is more than I can say for a lot of other developers who don't even get a fraction of this much vitriol.

Achievements on the disc? What?

Those are intangible assets stored online and associated with a game. When was the last time a game came out without a day-one patch? Those fix post-gold bugs (I know, paradox) and add hooks for dlc content.

Day-one dlc w/ post-gold patch =/= on disc.

Mostly? If you have followed what was suppose to be, and what has happened they did not live up to their word

Jesus Christ. This is based off our understanding, not of those who created them. For fuck's sake, just accept it in the grand scheme and stop trying to align it to out own understanding. You can't know god either.

Also, the relays exist in a system. What about the other systems in the cluster?

I shouldn't be seeing achievements for DLC I haven't downloaded. Whether that's on the disc or patched in, I should only be seeing them when I download the DLC.

Several elements of this game feels like a cash grab. Between this and DA2 where it sent you to the marketplace to download new characters who are introduced but not on disc I may be done with Bioware completely.
This is pretty much what I've been saying, and feeling, all along. We're quickly approaching a point where games are product suites rather than full experiences out of the box (which is, of course, still full-priced). But be careful, there are a lot of gamers who will be outraged -- outraged! -- that you dare criticize any of these practices. EA only wants your money so they can use every cent to support the starving developers, dammit!

I have mixed feelings about the ending to the game, and while I don't think they "owe" us anything more than what they gave us, I have very little doubt that this is exactly what's going to happen. I'd be surprised if it's not out before summer, honestly.

It's always been like that on XBL. It has nothing to do with the game or the disc.

Re: Mass Effect 3

If Bioware releases an endings DLC and charges for it, one person should buy it, post the whole thing on YouTube, and then we're set.

Spoiler:
So, completely looking at it from a story telling perspective, what's the reasoning behind repeatedly reminding us that when a mass relay explodes, its an incredibly destructive event? As a trick?
