Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Is there any way to post a roster of people playing Rock Band 3 so we can set up some online sessions? Blah blah blah... I know it's easy to set up a nice gang of 360ers but there aren't that many PS3 players in here and we could probably use some help getting an online group together to play... and trophy hunt and whatnot. We used to have one thread like that floating around but that's been cast to the ether it seems. Just the platform and preferred instrument and skill level...

I think we need a post with usernames / systems / instruments etc. Hell I just want more people on my friends list to compare scores with.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Earlier tonight my singer did the milk thing as my bassist smashed his guitar. Only I had just finished playing "Imagine." I can't think of a more inappropriate ending for that song.

The cut scenes/animation have always bugged me.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Yeah, I knew it existed... but it hadn't been used since March '09.

And it's only RB2. Are we updating this one or starting fresh?

You see how it was done, right? I grant you, jdpatri, franchise rights to start the RB3 version.

Yeah what's the deal with having to watch someone go into a subway car with the doors closing right behind them, over and over and over and over again.

Would you prefer elevator rides?

One little thing I really like is how the song title and artist don't show up for a few seconds after the song starts. Sometimes it's fun to be surprised.

Except that even for random setlists, it shows the songs selected for you on the difficulty selection screen.

+1 I don't like it down where they moved it either.

After playing through GH:WoR I'm really missing any kind of track length notification while you're playing the songs.

That was pretty much the only redeeming feature of that game.

Wait.

That means I can't complain when you screw it up.

Yeah, but you don't have to look. Even in RB2, it would show you the song on the top, but you could avoid it.

Yep because RB3 needs one more colored/flashing/glowing slider bar thing while Poker Smash goes off every 10 seconds.

I'd prefer either jumping directly to the menu faster or so large an assortment of cut scenes that it's not the same one over and over again. Can you see what you can do? Thanks for asking

In all fairness, I think the Road Challenges will be obsolete once they're completed an everything is gained from them. Focus on the Quickplay mode.

As I'm going to when I say that I retract my "punch right in the fucking face" comment from yesterday. I've since realized that solo percentages show up in non-Challenge modes. Basically, if there's a score counter on the screen, you'll see solo indicators. I'm ok with that.

A moving slider bar up by the star counter would add that much distraction?

Yeah, these "cut scene" loading sequences are going to get really old 2 years from now while we are probably still playing RB3. Need more variety, or go back to the static screens with the trivia. I enjoyed reading the trivia, but they needed to add more.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

My green button on my Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul looks to have bitten the dust. I have a Rock Band guitar, but I really hate it, much prefer the Guitar Hero guitars. Anyone have any success on repairing these things?
