You do realize that systems do break right? Even though I backed up my ps3 last time, I still had to re download all my dlc. Besides that, not everyone has a spare hard drive to back up when the system dies. Or, the system might die with say a YLOD which won't even let you get to the XMB to do a backup. In the case of a new system you will have to redownload everything including all the songs and their associated key files.

That makes sense, not something I thought about, it would be too easy for people to modify the file and cheat if they were write enabled.

Didn't know you were on a PS3. I'm sorry.

With a 360, you could just do a license transfer and queue everything up with the online marketplace. Wouldn't take me more than a couple hours, even with having all of the DLC.

Yeah, i thought about that after i put that in. It would be a pain in the ass for ps3 users I should say then. The ps3 download list is so convaluted, it saves all the demos you downloaded, there is no way to delete them from the list. So when I go back in I have go go through 400 items and find which ones are actually paid downloads and redownload them that way. They need to fix that and add like tabs for dlc so i don't spend just 2 hours finding everything i paid for and then another 4 redownloading them.

Site still down. This is one lousy launch that we'll all forget about in 2 weeks.

This happens ALL THE DAMN TIME. And I think it happens anytime there's a change to the hard drive at all because it's rescanned when I know nothing in the RB, RB2, or RB3 folders were changed.

I wouldn't be very motivated to get the site back up if I was planning on announcing 1 DLC track from a very polarizing band and that some songs from last week will be available again, but for a new higher price.

My game does this as well, but it only scans about 250 tracks of the 750+ that I have in my library.

So I'm giving up on the Pro Keys Trainer. It's a lost cause and I'm only on like 6 or 7 of 17. Also, fuck you game for making me feel terrible that I can't use my thumb and pinky to hit full octaves. Not without hitting the adjacent half steps! But I can use two index fingers, so suck it!

It's scanning individual files, like packs. Much less than actual songs.

Rush is "a very polarizing band"?

Do you know anyone who merely kinda likes Rush? They seem very much a love 'em or hate 'em band.

I'm completely ambivalent. I enjoy the songs in Rock Band.

That's item #55 on my "things about RB3 that I don't like so far" list. I actually timed it yesterday and it took 49 seconds to load my 1765 songs. I know it's a minor issue, but things like that are starting to add up.

Yep. I didn't grow up with Rush at all. First time I'd even heard a Rush song was when Beavis & Butthead trashed their videos. I figured they were the Nickelback of their time.

I guess I need to spend more time polling people on their feeling regarding Rush. My friends are all superfans or haters.

Actually, after the four RBN songs I purchased today and the songs missing from that Dinosaur Jr. DLC week, it's more like 1775.

What can I say? I love music and I love Rock Band. Maybe not as hardcore as that Shagrath guy, but I'm pretty obsessed.

Rush is as mainstream AOR as mainstream AOR gets. You might as well say "Bad Company" is a very polarizing band. I mean, they're not exactly Billy Bragg or Laurie Anderson...

And I know plenty of people who don't love Rush but like the singles well enough.

So I think i noticed that the gamestop preorder songs have pro guitar/bass in them.

Also - not many people have the doors tracks apparently - I 4 started a song on keys and was #9 on the leaderboards for one of them.

Actually, I think you've got me beat as far as number of songs.. I'm in the 1,600's. I've only got about 150 RBN songs though.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

I find that the way you progress through the game is not that great, that when you finish and you get your spades and say you get silver you have to start all over again just to get gold. It's pretty long and frustrating to have to start over again.

I'm actually stuck in between road challenge number 1 and 2 because i don't have enough fans to get to number 3. And everything that involves giving me more fans is either really hard to really long. For example '3 star every warm up song' or play these 25 songs etc.

I just freaking want to get to the next challenge so i can play the new rock band 3 songs. I don't feel like playing my RB2 or DLC songs for an hour just so i can unlock some stuff.

Yes i know i can quickplay all the new RB3 songs but i like going through career and unlocking venues and songs etc...

I agree on the road challenges. Once I complete a set and have my spades/medal.. I want to improve songs that I might not have done as well on. I don't want to have to do all the songs over just to improve on one or two.
