Totally the first scene of a zombie flick. And I do believe they'd all flock to KMart summoned by the flickering fluorescent lighting. Oh and also so they could ride the white horsie and spaceship out front.

Yay, I've got the game and keyboards in my hands (figuratively)! Only six+ hours of work to go.

My area is also getting hit with crazy storms and 70 MPH winds, so I'm going to be bummed if I get home and my power is out.

My keyboard is on track to be delivered today. Unfortunately that doesn't do a lot for me, as my game is not scheduled for delivery until tomorrow. Looks like Undead Nightmare tonight for me.

HMXThrasher just tweeted that they fixed the "sorting issue", so I'm guessing this is the same issue, and also the issue that I had yesterday.

[Jess Ventura]What they're doing is taking down the power to keep people from knowing too much about Rock Band 3! It's a conspiracy! Also, they have a plant at the Florida K-Mart keeping the game out of particular folks' hands! It's all true! It's why I live off the grid! [/Jesse Ventura]

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

I think everyone should boycott the RB2 export. I don't think it'll do any good, but I'm sick of all of the main games' "almost everything" exports. I figure if I already have to keep the RB2 disc around anyway for those few songs.

Why is it that they could get it right with Lego Rock Band, but not RB2?

(I'm trying to get all of my complaining out of the way, since it sounds like I won't have many about the new game.)

Well I was thinking of a Predator quote, but sure, that'll work too.

None of it is Harmonix' fault. Music rights are insanely complicated. We're paying Harmonix for the tracks we can export. The ones that can't transfer over aren't their fault, and the record companies who won't let those licenses transfer aren't getting any of the export fee.

Always blame Activision. Or Sony. Those seem to be popular choices.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Keys are a lot of fun. It's a whole new skill set to learn, which I appreciate. I played through the Easy tier of Pro Keys trainers and then played the easiest tier of keyboard songs on Easy Pro Keys. It's definitely manageable, though I was mostly getting 3 stars except for the really simple songs. I think I'll stick with that for a while longer before I bump it up to medium.

Pro-drums is not a groundbreaking change, but it's a very cool feature for the expert drummers. I no longer have to analyze the song to figure out what I should be hitting.

So I guess us PS3 dudes have to wait until later to find out how to import. I'm assuming the Doors stuff will go live sometime later as well. You'd think this stuff would be ready by the time people can buy the game.

Word. The hardest part is hand placement. Once you have the pattern down, it's really not too bad. I tend to hit the keys a split second before I should and I fat-finger a lot, but it'll get better with time.

It's weird because I never had that issue sorting by artist.

I guess there aren't any recommendations for me ever though. :lol

They said it'll be ready with the normal PSN update. You do it through the game itself. Go to "Get More Songs", then "Redeem Code". From there, you enter the code from the RB2 manual (the same one you used 2 years ago for the 20 free tracks), and that gets you access to spend your $10 on the export.

Just picked up the game and Keyboard for PS3 at Best Buy with no problems. They had plenty for all systems, and also got the $15 GC

Recommendations aren't working yet from what I can tell. Maybe they do as of this fix. I never had any sorting issues until yesterday.

That'll no doubt be tied to rb.com, right? Hence why it's probably not working yet.

I know it's already been debated to death. It just seems to me that they shouldn't be releasing any songs if they haven't cleared future rights. "You want to be on the disc in our game, you get $.20 per song per copy sold and the same amount any time someone exports the song into a future game. If you don't like that arrangement, talk to whoever's making the next shitty Guitar Hero game." Done.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

played some keys last night, got GOLD STARS on Inxs, #9 on the leaderboard as of last night

But otherwise, I was playing regular keys on Medium which was a blast, and did some Pro Easy - which too was pretty damned fun. Then I hopped on with Gramps and Pinata, and then stunk it up because my calibration was still way off (30ms in each case).

Bummed about The Main Drag being left off the export...still need to look at all those songs and see if it's worth it. I generally find myself playing DLC when i do quickplay anyway.

Good cover. Glad I didn't jump in and have to hear your lame excuses.
