I know. I don't have any groupies either, of course it may have something to do with me not being past the "Sounds like a cat dying" phase in my lessons

Blink 182 - What's My Age Again
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Bob Marley - Redemption Song
First one was a warmup, second was because I might not get to play it again (I won't really miss it though) and the third one...well, it really felt like the end of an era with that one.
Shitty thing is, I'm getting RB3 delivered to my work tomorrow, so I'll be spending half the day with it sitting at my desk unopened. Hopefully my supervisor takes off early.

Umm... no. Keep Activision's filthy mitts FAR away from our RB. (Apologies if this has been already posted, but the group jerk with pinata as the pivot man has taken up far too much bandwidth for me to check the last 10 pages or so...)
Analyst Advises Activision to Acquire Rock Band
Logan Westbrook | 25 Oct 2010 12:46 pm
One of Activision's key franchises is circling the drain, and sales estimates for Guitar Hero games are getting some major pruning.
It's been on the cards for a while, but it seems like the Guitar Hero series has finally run out of steam and taken Activision's dreams of music game domination with it. According to one analyst, the situation is so bad that the only way Activision is going to get anyone to care about a new Guitar Hero game is by cutting a deal with Viacom and linking it to the Rock Band franchise.
Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz thought that interest in music games had effectively reset itself back to the levels it was at before Guitar Hero exploded onto the scene in 2006. He said that Cowen and Company had revised its sales estimate for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, cutting it from 2.5 million US sales in the fourth quarter of 2010, to just 1 million. There was some small comfort for Activision however, although it was bittersweet at best, as Creutz said that Guitar Hero made so little difference to Activision's overall results, it was no longer a focus for investor's concerns.
I can't help but feel that Creutz is overcomplicated things. Activision could try to revitalize the Guitar Hero series with a Voltron-esque team-up with Rock Band, but it would probably be just as effective to wait a year or two before releasing another game, and try to make it a really good one. It's not wizardry or eldritch arts that make the Rock Band games score higher than the Guitar Hero games, it's that Harmonix is taking its time and isn't firing them out at a rate of at least one a year.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is available now for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, and Rock Band 3 comes out for the same platforms plus the DS on October 26th in North America, October 28th in Australia, and October 29th in Europe.

I'm sure EA is super eager to give up the franchise rights with Rock Band and/or share profits with Activision.

The more transparent fret road is a big
for me.
Is there anyway to change it? I can't find anything.

Not that many people here. Maybe 25. There's a big ass truck outside which has some guy playing Lego Rock Band on drums.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Supposedly the RB2 export is available and obtained by entering the 20 free DLC code from the back of the RB2 manual in the RB3 menu. I only say "supposedly" because several people have reported that it works with 360 copies but I can't get my copy of RB3 until 10am to confirm. Like before when "Dani California" and "Black Hole Sun" showed up missing I find the reports believable as opposed to believing there's some of middle-of-the-night conspiracy brewing to mislead people in regards to the import.
Onto the bad news, there are a lot of missing songs:
Abnormality - Visions
AC/DC - Let there Be Rock
Anarchy Club - Get Clean
Bang Camaro - Night Lies
Breaking Wheel - Shoulder to the Plow
Journey - Any Way You Want It
Libyans - Welcome to the Neighborhood
The Main Drag - A Jagged Gorgeous Winter
Metallica - Battery
Red Hot chili Peppers - Give it Away
Soundgarden - Spoonman
Speck - Conventional Lover
The Sterns - Supreme Girl
That Handsome Devil - Rob the Prez-O-Dent
The HMX bands are pretty surprising but people are already speculating that they're being held for PRO-ready re-releases, possibly through RBN. The RHCP/Soundgarden thing was what I was worried about but this sadly seems to confirm GH exclusivity.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
The export pack is right under 2gb and it's also been theorized that the HMX songs may have been cut due to Microsoft having a 2gb limit on add-ons. If that's the case I imagine they'd have something in the works to release the HMX stuff separately.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
The HMX songs will be back in a future free DLC pack. So technically, we're only missing 5 songs.

Anyone know if the PS3 save file is still copy protected?

Losing Journey SUUCKS but maybe, hopefully they're bringing it back with keys?
Couldn't care less about Metallic and would have hidden AC/DC from random rotation anyway. The RHCP and SG songs I feel sad about, but will not lose any sleep. I think I'll get that d/l started now and then go to bed.

Damn, no Journey. I also liked The Main Drag - A Jagged Gorgeous Winter but I guess it'll show up later.

I agree with pinata and Stu. Visions Journey is the big loss here.
Sucks about metallica, RHCP & Soundgarden but I won't lose sleep over them. LTBR is in the AC/DC pack so no loss there.
I still miss Enter Sandman from RB1 more than any of those.

Taking away the HMX songs...
AC/DC - Let there Be Rock
Journey - Any Way You Want It
Metallica - Battery
Red Hot chili Peppers - Give it Away
Soundgarden - Spoonman
Yeah figures, just as I thought, all good songs.
Why can't we ever lose stuff like Lit or AFI?
Metallica and Soundgarden are especially painful to lose. And Journey.

OK, so I've been playing for three hours now. Impressions...
Likes:
Interface feels smooth and polished.
Spade system adds variety
Generally more options than RB2
Pro mode is detailed and demanding
You can switch profiles among instruments
Custom setlists can be saved
Dislikes:
No indicator of whether a song is RB1, 2, 3, Lego, or DLC.
Currently can't connect to the music store.
I tried pro keys for a bit and it ripped me to shreds, so I switched to expert guitar so I could get a feel for the game. Tomorrow I'm going to go into the trainer and do all the keyboard stuff I can.

Pretty sure there is an indicator when you press Y to pull up more info. Also you can select Song Source, and it lets you choose between RB1, 2, 3, GD, and Lego. It might also include AC/DC but I'm not sure.
