There might be a couple of songs in the Chicago archives I might have wanted to purchase and play, but not those.

I would've preferred some of their cheesy '80s hits, honestly.
I would've fainted from excitement if Peter Cetera's "Glory of Love" was included with those songs.
That said, I've been in a Shaun of the Dead mood, so I may pick up "If You Leave Me Now".

I'd be down for Chicago if it was the Peter Cetera era of songs. Wasn't Glory of Love from his solo career?

The green button of my wood fender keeps falling off, so I switched back to my Les Paul for some playing tonight. Holy hell does that feel like a toy! Way too light after years with the beauty and my hand started cramping going back to the non-flush GH-style buttons. I was barely hitting 5 stars on some very easy Blitz songs and DLC I hadn't played yet.
It's incredible how used you get to a certain piece of hardware with these games.
203 HOPOs left for the achievement. Going to put it off until Friday for the anniversary.

So with the anniversary coming up...going back and reading the posts from the release of RB3.
Personally I could play this game everyday if my w/life allowed it. I'm currently going thru the DLC by decade and purchasing favorite songs starting with the 80's of course
. Have also recently purchased instruments I didn't have: Pro drum kit, Pro Mustang, Keyboard.
- How do you feel about RB3 now and the current state of this genre?
- If you are not playing RB why not?
- If you are playing how frequently do you play, and what is keeping your interest in the franchise?

2. I do play, just not as much as I used too. It needs even more DLC, and the music on Network needs to stand out more, it feels like a muddied mess every time I look at it.
3. I play about 2-3 times a month. New DLC tracks keeps my interest obviously or whenever I'm itching to sing a few songs since I don't really do the karaoke club thing anymore. (though I would, but none of my friends really care about that sort of thing or only go to places where everybody smokes like a chimney)

1) RB3 is still king, but RockSmith definitely does the "real guitar" thing a lot better. The genre is definitely in a bad state, but we might see that revitalized once the new consoles hit (my hope, anyways).
2) I'm still playing, so this question doesn't apply.
3) I'm still playing a couple times a week. I'll run through the DLC (on guitar, bass, and solo vocals), and I'll hit up the challenges for RB:World.
RB:World has really revitalized me a little bit. Before that, I had everything played, so it was just the new DLC and I could run through that in under an hour. Now, I've got scavenger hunts (LOVE 'EM!), setlists, and various Blitz challenges to do every week.

Speaking of RB:World challenges, am I correct in noticing that they "fixed the glitch" with being able to play the same song in both RBB and RB3 for the goals? The Police and Motley Crue, I only have 4 songs each, so I can't get 30 stars without gold starring at least one in RB3, but they don't seem to be double-counting anymore.
Also, it would be nice to delete/hide challenges I'll never complete because I have no plans of buying all the necessary DLC for everything. They don't seem to roll off on their own yet.
Also, I have over 250k coins now, so there's really no point in the challenges other than to do them and see my "medals" go up on FB. There's no other reason than a personal scoreboard, that I can see.

Yes, the "fixed the glitch" for the double dipping. Their answer for people that didn't have enough DLC to do those was "buddy up with a friend or two that has the content," which I think is completely OK. Hell, I've got all the DLC needed, and I still team up with a couple guys to bang things out quicker.
I, for one, am glad that goals don't disappear forever if you don't complete them. There's a few I haven't been able to accomplish yet because I'm not the best at Blitz, and I'm glad that those are going to stick around for me to try at a later date.
I'm not doing these things for the coins (I do everything in RB3 if I can). I just like having goals to accomplish. I think the scavenger hunts are amazing, and I love trying to figure out what the songs are, and the way that they give out hints.

I agree with all of that, but it would be nice to hide those goals I know I won't complete. We can always unhide them if I change my mind

Haven't played in months. It all comes down to DLC. Not that DLC has been bad, just not stuff I feel inclined to buy at full price.
The 90s are still woefully under represented(there's a bunch but its all from the same half dozen bands), and improving that would sway me back.
That and Dream Theater. I'll always be there on day one for them. Hell, I'd be there if they'd represent prog more. Toss some Nightwish, Ayreon, Pain of Salvation, classic Queensryce, Symphony X, Stratovarius, or Animals as Leaders out there, just to name a few. Still waiting on some Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Black Country Communion would be cool.
And hell, the genre is what 7+ years old and we still haven't gotten any TSO at Christmas yet? That's just weak.
Yet I check this thread every week hoping for something fresh.

For a second, I thought you guys wanted some TSOL and was thinking that is pretty obscure band to long for.

Hey gang,
With a distinctive sound that’s as much influenced by punk rock as by ska and reggae, Sublime rose to fame in the mid-‘90s with a string of hits off its self-titled third album. Often requested by Rock Band fans, Sublime will make its debut on the Music Store on October 30th!
Three tracks will be available as part of “Sublime Pack 01.” First up is “What I Got,” the hit single that helped push the band into the spotlight in 1996. The track is joined by “Santeria” and “Wrong Way,” which spent 26 weeks on the Billboard’s Alternative Songs charts!
As a bonus, Rock Band Blitz players who play any of these Sublime tracks will earn double coins for each play!
Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (October 30th, 2012):
• Sublime – “What I Got” O
• Sublime – “Wrong Way” O
• Sublime – “Santeria” O X
(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system October 31st)
Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards; tracks marked with “X” will offer Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Not such a fan of Wrong Way, it sounds so dated and simplistic. But like the other two a lot. Will at least get those.

Hmm. Santeria was in GH:World Tour. In 2008.
How long has Harmonix been sitting on this pack?
Which makes me wonder just how many songs they have queued up already and are just sitting shelved waiting for licensing to clear.

they're focusing on running the Dance Central franchise into the ground, once that bottoms out they may be able to dedicate time to RB again.

Like, ideas that have been queued up, or actual something-to-show-for-it work? They can very rarely start on a track until the licensing has cleared...that has to happen before they can get their hands on the multitrack stems.
