I just checked out the preview trailer for next week's DLC. Nothing really grabbed me, but I'm glad that others are excited for it.

According to HMXHenry's twitter (twitter.com/hmxhenry), we're only getting one song announced tomorrow due to some licensing that fell through. They'll have some band announcements to make up for the lack of songs though.

No new Blitz announcements at E3 I take it?

Anyone here play Blitz at E3? Was it just like Frequency or the PSP Rock Band game?

Weird - that has to be a first, right? I definitely can't remember a week with less than three songs.

There's been some weeks where we get nothing, and at least one week I remember where we got 1 song. I think it was the Portal song?

Even thought here will be only ones one for next week, HMX did say they will reveal a few artists scheduled to arrive this summer.

And in RBN news, Ozone let it be known that they'll be releasing 4 John Parr songs including Naughty Naughty and St. Elmo's Fire. I think that's pretty cool for all of us 80s fans.

DLC for 6/12:

Hey gang,

California-based rock group Incubus had been making music for nearly ten years before it hit the mainstream with their chart-topping third album, 1999’s Make Yourself. “Drive,” the third single from the record and the track that earned the band Billboard’s Modern Rock Single of the Year award, comes to the Rock Band Music Store on June 12th!

The addition of “Drive” grows the library of Incubus tracks playable in Rock Band, which includes “Adolescents,” “Dig,” and “Wish You Were Here,” all available now on the Rock Band Music Store.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (June 12th, 2012):

• Incubus – “Drive”

(This track will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system June 13th)

Price:

$1.99 USD (160 Microsoft Points ™, 200 Wii Points™) per song
Not my cuppa, but a decent single offering, I suppose. I'm far more interested in the licensing issue.

Incubus isn't my thing, either. Same with those announced artists. Really curious about what songs fell through, though. You'd think they'd have that aspect locked down before working on the track.

And "St. Elmo's Fire" coming soon? Hell yeah. I don't remember the last time I bought a RBN song. Maybe that instrumental guitar Christmas medley.

Hells yeah i've been wanting more incubus and this was one of the main songs i was really hoping for.

I want the entire QOTSA catalog, so that is fantastic news!

One Incubus track is definitely not the week for me. I wish they would say who the other artist was, if only to sate our curiosity.

I picked up the Cracker track on Wednesday, sang it and was pleased with myself that I was #25 on the leaderboard. Then I scrolled down and saw that only 49 people had sung it at that point.

I haven't gotten around to singing it yet, but I will make sure to beat your score tonight. :)

So there's a new Rocksmith'ish game in development called BandFuse. It uses the music videos, and a more tablature style format than Rocksmith. They released a trailer for it yesterday.

Why am I posting it here? Well, look at 0:40, and you'll see this..

You mean the rockband icons for the guitars and mic?

I just sang this and my crappy medium vocals got #51 on the vocal leaderboards. If I'm placing that high, not many have sung it yet.

I have a bad habit of buying songs, then forgetting to play them. One weekend I'll put in 12 hours on Rock Band it seems, but then it'll sit idle for 2 months. I need to make a point to play again soon.

I just remembered that I picked the B-52s Love Shack for RBB. Since they're confirmed coming to RB in the coming months, I sure hope it's in that game!

Yup. That's exactly what I meant. It was pointed out to some people at HMX over on the RB forums, and they are seriously "wtf"ing about the situation.

Yesterday I said that I didn't care about any of the announced summer artists, but I would buy "Love Shack". It'd be a good party song and it's always fun to sing like Fred Schneider.

I still hate "Roam", though.

Not a big fan of "Roam" either, but "Love Shack" and "Channel Z" would be great.

Awww....I love, love, love that song, and it's my go-to when I want to drum.

"Love Shack" is just so overplayed that I think I could cheerfully go the rest of my life without ever hearing it again. If I could pick a B-52s song that isn't already in the game, I think I'd go for "Private Idaho". "Strobe Light" or "52 Girls" would be a lot of fun, but they seem like kind of unrealistic choices for Rock Band. I'm probably the only person anywhere who'd have a blast with "Planet Claire".

Here's a really nice preview of Rock Band Blitz. It explains the gameplay better than I'd seen previously. Looking forward to this. It also looks much nicer than I would have imagined.

Well, I'm a few days late, but I came through. :) #19.
