I didn't bother with it though, as I've been using the Zealot suit.

Hacker suit schematic is actually in chapter 2 I believe.

Re: Dead Space 2

There are no "tank" rigs as far as I can tell in this game this time...no 60% dmg reduction rigs like the first game...don't count EA coming out with one though for 5 bucks just to get those wanting to do the hard run...

I thought the same as well but the Zealot suit was available to me for free at the very first store kiosk I found.

Re: Dead Space 2

So far this game is less fun than the DEMO. And I think I missed the first Suit. I think I'm still on Chapter 1, so I'm not sure.

Re: Dead Space 2

Just finished second playthrough/zealot difficulty. What a ride!

Now all that remains is hardcore mode...

Not really, but I'm already annoyed by the unskippable opening scenes that I've watched 3 times in the past hour or so.

Re: Dead Space 2

I started it last (Saturday) night and played through the first three chapters on hard. It's really good. I'm liking it a lot. There's some really creative new things that they've added, especially in terms of gameplay variety.

I tried multiplayer for a couple of minutes. It didn't seem very good. Luckily, I just bought it for SP. And it doesn't seem to have any multiplayer trophies.

Re: Dead Space 2

i picked up this titles based off this thread and figured id pop it in for a couple minutes and test it out. couple hours later and 4 chapters in its almost 3am the game play def pulls you in. def challenging for me on normal as i never played the original so getting use to the controls was a bit difficult. only thing i would prefer would be more cut scenes to develop the storyas im usually to buy trying not to die to listen and i had no clue i was on chapter 4 so quickly.

while i wont loose sleep over it i never experiences a game with so much tension cant wait to finish this one.

I was so thankful for this. Games that I play MP like Black Ops won't have any MP acheivements/trophies, but games like NHL 11 or Madden 11, that I don't go online with at all will be almost all MP acheivemnets/trophies. It was really frustrating

Thank you EA for for not filling the list with stupid MP shit.

Re: Dead Space 2

I'd strongly discourage anyone from playing this game before playing the first in the series. Not only is the first game a masterpiece and (IMO) probably a slightly better game than this one overall, but this entry definitely rewards you for having played the first. There are...certain sequences and cutscenes that very cleverly play on your memories of the first game to ramp up the tension and your expectations. Without spoiling anything, the final cutscene relies almost completely on your memory of a related scene in the first game to get a reaction from you, and it's a whopper of a brilliant ending.

Not to mention the fact that several key plot points and surprises from the first game are spoiled in this one.

Re: Dead Space 2

Loving this game. Finished 3rd playthrough (zealot difficulty) in just over 7 hours. Gonna give hardcore a run now. I saw somewhere that the damage (inflicted or received) isn't the same as Zealot and actually closer to Normal mode, but the ammo is just as sparse as zealot. Hope the first part is true anyway as it might make for a less impossible challenge.

And it's probably because of this post that I will drop some hard earned cash on it to check it out. I love games that do this sort of thing and I've never been so tense playing a video game as I was with the first dead space.

Gameplay and variety, yes. Story, I'd say definitely not.

Re: Dead Space 2

2nd run through completed on Zealot. Awesome times. I'm not sure I'll be doing Hardcore, but I do need to run through at least a bit and pick up a bunch of the other weapon achievements.

Re: Dead Space 2

I'm not going to be able to pick this up for a while until I finally get around to Dead Space 1. However, if anyone has a Ser Isaac Armor for Dragon Age that they don't plan on using, please let me know, since I'll be playing DA2 before DS2. Thanks!

Re: Dead Space 2

I'm enjoying the crap out of this game so far. Just made it to the 2nd disc last night and had to force myself to stop to get some sleep. I can understand why people are playing through it 3-4 times in a row.

Re: Dead Space 2

I restarted on Normal last night and played to the exact same point I played to on Survivalist the first night. Then I was done.

Maybe it picks up after that or I was just bored redoing it all? Either way, I haven't had that "OMG GOTTA KEEP GOING" mindset kick in yet.
