Please note that you may experience issues with Ambient Challenges not being completely in-sync between this page and your game. We are working to patch this very soon. Don’t worry, as progress earned in your save game will still be properly reflected here once this fix is in place.
There's also a similar note attached to Missions, Outfits, and Strangers.

You've been playing horseshoes for 2 weeks, haven't you?

At least you got the achievement for having the thread named after you.

Dino, each bounty that counts is 0.1%, so you can track them as you eliminate them. Also, it seems to help if you go to Chuparosa for Mexico bounties or Armadillo for New Austin bounties. Since they're located centrally, you won't have to ride too far to get to the criminal. There was one I got in Escalera and I had to go way over to the other side of the map.

I'm not sure if its been mentioned/asked previously, but can you go back to areas to complete the game 100%? Or are there instances where if you don't do a task then, then you're SOL?

AFAIK, I think the only important thing you can miss is the "Spurred to Victory" A/T. If you don't get that in the normal course of the game, you may have to start over. I don't know if you can replay missions or not to get it.

There's also the "I Know You" stranger mission (with the guy that looks like Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York). It's possible to miss that, but it doesn't count for 100%.

Yes always. No matter what you do in the game - no matter what - you will never ruin the opportunity to get 100%.
Unless it glitches of course

Just picked this game up last night, played for about 4 hours and the time just flew by. Excellent game. Looking forward to being able to play later today (at work for the moment LOL).

This is a HUGE relief to know this.

Is there anything special you have to do for Sharpshooter rank 5? It's the one where you have to kill 2 animals in a single Dead Eye. I killed a boar and a bighorn and it didn't give me it.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

If anyone is having trouble with killing the legendary jaguar in Free Roam, I found that if you stand on the little platform (facing the river) next to the cabin, the cougars can't get to you. Or at least they didn't for me. You still have to go around and draw out the jaguar when you see the icon, but if you get back on that platform, even he can't touch you.

Note: in Free Roam this is a different task from single-player, as you have to kill about 8 cougars before you even get to see the jaguar, and he has a few cougars with him as well. Of course you have no medicine, and if you die, the jaguar is gone and you start over.

So how are you enjoying the multiplayer so far? I can't say I really like it much but maybe I still have to play more (and I've been saying this for a bit now but I really think it's because I need to unlock the more advanced stuff before making a final decision).

I mean, I played capture the bag last night and got 3 captures in one game and was awarded the top player at the end....and I got all that without getting one kill but seven deaths so that was kinda cool...but the free roam is lacking big time if you just want to "hang out" so to speak....they really should have at least put in the mini games from the single player mode.

Can you level up in free roam as well? I'm guessing this is done by clearing out gang hideouts?

I also do really like that lock on aiming works in multi-player....that is a huge plus (and is needed).

I'll say it again, the MP in this game definitely isn't as good as they made it out to be.

The single player was great, loved the ending.

I haven't dabbled much in the actual MP game modes, but the Free Roam is the shit. There's nothing like getting a posse together and holing up in El Presidio manning gatling guns and cannons while other heroes try to breach your defenses. Superfro and I were running around the field punishing some Rambos.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Yeah, RDR's multiplayer is world's beyond any GTA title. Rockstar obviously listened to their customers complaints and suggestions, and I'm having a blast with it so far. I'm not entirely on board with the leveling up system, but I can understand why some players prefer this. At least raiding the gang hideouts gets one up there eventually. Also, unlocking the extra multiplayer characters to play is a lot of fun.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Finally dipped into the MP too, needed a break from the main game. Lots of challenges to do at least for a distraction.

Then I popped in a movie last night, and about 10 minutes in it froze and now my PS3 won't recognize any discs I put in. No more RDR for me

Got to 100% last night, took me just shy of 48 hours to get there. I loved the game but I am a bit sad now that it is done.

Shit got even more awesome after you left too! Everybody bailed and that Steven Segal guy and his clone joined up with another 2 or 3 dudes. We just sat at the El Presidio and watched them on the map. They all met up way south from us and must have been organizing some plan. They all started riding in from different angles and I suggested we all use the travel post to jump to another place as soon as they get there. It was awesome! Then we could see them take up the mounted guns on our map since they were in the fort and not moving so we jumped back and after dying a few times, took it back over and held them off till they quit.

Master Hunter Rank 8 was a hell of a lot easier than I was anticipating it being. I was figuring that one was going to take an hour or two and I got it with the first bear I came across.

Finished 100% last night. I can't remember ever reaching the end of such a visually beautiful game with a compelling story and being so relieved that I never, ever have to play it again.

Stupid glitch I think, I can't complete the outfit with the task "purchase at the general store in escalara" Everytime I purchase something it doesn't check it off.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Ok....so I've played around in MP. I've been voted out of games due to the fact that I suck dong and don't have any cool guns. I will also re-appear in front of a guy with full guns/dead eye (I don't have any dead eye) and don't have much of a chance. So, should I try to join the dvdtalk posse? Or is there some way to not be on the shit-team while I build up my stats?

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I just log on and ride by people. If they shoot me, I'll go nuts on them. If they leave me alone, I'll leave them alone.

There was a couple of guys that kept shooting me, so I killed them until they left town. Then I followed and kill them some more. They eventually tried to have me kicked, but nobody voted.
