in other words, you can't save in middle of mission or all is lost?

Yes, but that's true of the single player game as well as the multiplayer game. The missions do have checkpoints however, so that if you die, you will resume at the checkpoint, and not at the beginning of the mission, but if you choose to quit the game completely, you would have to start the mission over from the beginning.

The single player game can be saved at any time as long as you're not doing a mission.

The multiplayer game only autosaves when you complete an objective of some sort, and there is no manual save.

After playing GTA IV multiplayer for the first time today, I must say RDR has great online. What the fuck was rockstar thinking making all those mp trophies to get a plat in GTA??? BS.

That's precisely why it's worth it. At launch, there were several codes up on ebay for those outfits for very reasonable prices.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Hmmm... Well I guess that's up to each person individually. Dead Eye certainly helps with the tougher parts of the game and would make the missions go by quicker. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone put a decent value on that.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

They all have their benefits. The War Horse will get you places faster and keep your horse alive. The Golden Guns raise your "fame" faster and get you discounts at stores and a blind-eye turned by the Law should you need to dispense some justice of your own.

I can't imagine the soundtrack helps with the game, but it's god damned awesome and I bought it off iTunes.

those do seem like beneficial DLC's and enhance the game. thanks for info. prices for all together are rather high bc that War Horse one seems to be rare and i would imagine helps alot.

I'd say not too bad, considering all you get (including the rare War Horse)

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

^ now, do they infact merely enhance gameplay or more considered a cheat?

i am always leary of cheat stuff when i go into games because even though i do need the help, i like to experience games without help, especially at first.

but, these dlc's sound very interesting and something i would like to see in action.

It's DLC, and meant to enhance your enjoyment. Purchase now, and don't look back.

But you can use these things immediately from what I remember, so you might as well get them the same time as the game. IMO of course.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Gotta admit...the multi-player sucked me in. It took a while but after finding out that you can go into your own private free roam to complete challenges.....I find that pretty sweet (although to be fair it does kind of defeat the purpose of multi-player).

I'm a level 14 I think....not quite sure I'll keep playing to level 50 but the new DLC's coming out may have me trying to finish the job.

The best so far has been the online cooperative play....I first did a few of the missions with a couple of friends then just recently played online with people I didn't know....not that I hate talking but I thought it was pretty cool how we all didn't have a headset on.....we completed the 3 missions we played with pretty much flying colors and it was a lot of fun.

My experience was the opposite yesterday. I decided to play co-op with strangers and those douchebags, double crossed me (of course they didn't have bluetooth, otherwise they would have known how pissed I was). So I left, and decided to spend my time on Free Roam and obtained the Most Wanted trophy which was easier than I thought.

The next trophy line up is the 500 kills on a mounted weapon since I been doing this online and in Presidio to be exact.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Bluetooth and online douchebags I'm so confused, I thought the PS3 didn't have 360's problems since the online was awesome and free?

Lesson: play with people you know, all the time, always. Regardless of the game. It isn't RDR's fault.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I never stated that it was RDR's fault for having douchebags on their online portion of the game. Heck, I even found decent people on it too but last night online experience was truly bad. Thanks Chess for not wanting to play RDR and instead play Borderlands with Chew. See what happened...

In regards to your PSN and X-Box Live comment Pinata, I won't comment on it...

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I've only played a few random Free Roam and it's been a mixed bag but unfortunately mainly childless. The last one was just stupid. I got a invite only to ride over only find three of the Posse members constantly shooting and trashing each other via on-line mike. Me and another player just sat on our horses, watched and listened

So if anyone is doing the co-op (which I've done) or for a heck-of-it Free Roam you can send an invite if I'm on
