Also, the not swimming thing is stupid i agree.
I agree about the calls for pool, darts, etc. I had to change to an unlisted number and Roman still found me.

SR2 was alot better with mid mission checkpoints though. Some of the missions in GTA IV *cough*ThreeLeafClover*cough* were ridiculous.

RDR definitely trumps it online, mostly due to JC2 not having any online. But everything you listed above for JC2 is more fun and stays fun for longer than most of the stuff you listed for RDR. Horseshoes! Pick Flowers!! YAY!!!

You neglect to mention how 70% of JC2 is about 70 hours of game play - yeah, you got bored of that real quick...

I'll be surprised if I put half as many hours into the single-player of RDR before it gets boring.
I didn't say picking flowers was something you'd do for an hour, I just listed it because it was something you can do. Also, some people have said horseshoes is fun.

I put close to 60 hours into JC2 I believe. I can probably do the same with RDR. I take my time with games. I enjoy the scenery. Alot of the time spent in JC2 was just spent flying or driving around. The map was so damn huge.

No, it's a video games credit.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

If it was only video game credit then it sure didn't specify. I pre-ordered both RDR and MG2 at the same time. For MG2 is flat out said it was $20 video game credit but for RDR it simply said $20 Amazon credit, not mentioning anything about video games.

I have been able to obtain all of the DLC codes. I got the GameStop code for ordering there (I canceled my Amazon order), and found people to just give me the Golden Guns and War Horse codes.

You clearly need more bran in your diet.

Edit: Never mind -- I see it's already been discussed and rejected

I saved the guy from the cannibals outside of Armadillo and as he was running back to town a pack of wolves attacked and killed him

Rockstar Patches Red Dead Redemption Invisibility Glitch

"We have just deployed a fix that should address the issues some people have been experiencing in Red Dead Redemption online multiplayer. This fix should address a specific issue that was found where the player's multiplayer avatar, their horse or their weapons would occasionally not be visible in multiplayer games as well as an issue that some players were experiencing where they would lose connection to the various multiplayer modes."

This game looks pretty sweet but I am still playing GTA4 and stuck on Three Leaf Clover.
Will get this one eventually.

No, the offer specifially said "Amazon Gift Card". Nowhere did it say Video Game Credit. There was even a picture of a gift card next to the offer. It looked different than all of the other pre order video game credits currently available.

This is the first time I've bought a game with one so do they actually send a "gift card" with a code or or what? I've read it's a "game credit" and a "store credit"?

When it's a game credit, they usually just add it to your account and it comes off automatically when you buy a game. For a gift card, I'm guessing they will email you a code to use next time you check out (I can't imagine them wasting postage to send you an actual card when all you really need is the code), but that's just conjecture on my part. They may just add a general credit to your account that will come off with your next order.

Am I the only one thinking the town of Plainview is a reference to "There Will Be Blood," especially given all the oil derricks.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Finished up the "I Know You" stranger quest. Interesting little ending to it.

Spoiler:
Marston demands to know the stranger's name and the guy doesn't tell him. He fires a few bullets into the back of him. The guy chuckles, and just keeps on walking, then disappears.

You're partially right. It said gift card at first and after it was released it changed to game credit. Perhaps it was two different ones?

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Has anyone done the mission with West Dickens that
Spoiler:
has you ride a horse cart? You have to get first place? I tried it, took the lead, got near the finish and suddenly five riders behind me somehow got super speed and passed me, so I failed.

Fucking pissed me off.

That one was pretty easy for me too. I think the game hates you.

Well I'm not a Modest Meese but I can stay drunk so I've got part two of your request covered.

The latest snag I've hit is when your dead-eye ability gets upgraded to the next level. I had no issues with level one but now with the multiple target thingy I find myself auto-aiming at innocent bystanders more often than not and if I forget to cancel the action then I'm screwed and have to reload.

the last answer given here is the best as the other posts are partially right considering when the order was placed

it was an Amazon gift card (good on all Amazon products) for those who preordered ... and then at some point on the 18th (release date) the offer changed to a videogame credit for any orders that point forward

I finished it on the second try. I think on the first try I kept trying to
Spoiler:
knock everyone off their carts like the announcer said and didn't build a lead. The second time it wasn't even close.

I did make sure I ran over the race announcer between tries though. I never felt happier about starting over in my life.
