Re: Alan Wake

Yeah, I suppose that's a fair price. I never played any of the DLC since I played through Gamefly, but if you're at least interested that sounds worth it. If they wrap up the larger story or brought out a sequel to finish it I'd be happy to go back and play the DLC since they're extra after the fact.

Mind you it's only $29 on Amazon so for a bit more you'd be sure it works, you'd save on the HDD space and you'd get the free DLC chapter.

Re: Alan Wake

I thought it was worth the $40 I paid for it. Well, since it included the "free" $7 DLC, I guess you can split hairs and say I only paid $33 for it.

Haters gonna hate, but it was solid fun.

Re: Alan Wake

I'm a solid believer in this game, and I would've gladly paid full price for it.

Re: Alan Wake

As someone who paid full price for it, anything full price or less is well worth it.

Re: Alan Wake

This might actually be my favorite game of the year, and I've played pretty much every major title that's been released, not to mention a large quantity of minor titles.

Re: Alan Wake

I got this game for Christmas and I like it alot, however I am having a tough time with it. The combat is very difficult for me -- especially when surrounded. I am having to repeat certain sections several times which is reducing the impact and flow of the story. I should have started it on the easiest difficulty I guess. Any tips? I am usually a very good "action" game player. I love the Ninja Gaiden series and have beaten those games several times over.

Re: Alan Wake

You don't have to battle all the enemies. Sometimes, a good strategy is just to run to the next light source. Once you're there, you're safe---they can't follow you anymore.

Re: Alan Wake

Alan Wake is a normal guy - he won't be able to fight everything. It's OK to run, and absolutely necessary at times.

The problem is Alan needs some cardio-vascular workouts in his routine. He tires way too fast -- which is unbelievable given the adrenaline he should have.

Re: Alan Wake

How many times has this thread seen this exact conversation? Right back to complaining about Wake's lack of aerobic exercise and conditioning.

Re: Alan Wake

This game is a mystery to me. I just couldnt get into it at all. I played through it and quickly traded it in. I dont think I've ever played a game that got such rave reviews and I thoroughly disliked it. I usually love games like this, but I couldnt ever figure out why I hated this one so much.

Re: Alan Wake

I got this game for $20 on Boxing Day. I was kind of regretting the purchase... but now I'll have to give it a shot. That is, if I can get Black Ops out of my 360.

4 times so far. It bears repeating because somehow people have missed this game for 11 months and keep asking the same questions

Re: Alan Wake

Thanks for the tips about just running like hell. I tried that last night and had a much easier time. I feel stupid about not doing that before. I just thought I would get followed the entire stage.

Re: Alan Wake

Just finished Episode 5 I damn near shit my pants. even though extremely repetitive i like the story enough to finish.

The score is great but i also love the songs at the end of each episode. I see on Amazon they only have the soundtrack to the score. Anyone know where i can get a mp3 of all the songs? (legal only)

Re: Alan Wake

Just started this playing this one today and so far it’s great. Finished up episode one and will start episode two tomorrow. I’ve been avoiding this thread for spoilers but look forward to going back to see what everyone else thought. Also, does this game auto save several times during each episode? I didn’t want to have to quit during one and then play it over again at the beginning.
