I've lost data twice as two 60s have taken a shit on me. I would have taken it a bit easier if Sony didn't pull this bullshit of tying the HDD to a specific PS3. This is my one biggest complaint about the PS3 as all systems will take a dump sooner or later.

It's not THAT bad. It's the Dead Rising Case Zero of the R&C series. At three times the price.

Kinda pissy that you cannot use Hulu Plus on to systems simultaneously.

I think so, the non-disc version of NetFlix should be out next month also.

I'm trying to copy some of my saved game data from one PS3 to another but some of the games have told me that i can't do it (Rock Band 2 for example). Does anybody know why? Is there a way to transfer the data?

I think if you network them you can transfer that way. Don't quote me on that, though.

My PS3 slim should be here tomorrow after being serviced, hope they fixed whatever was causing those hard drive corruptions! can't wait to dive back into oblivion!

Edit-ARGH FedEx says it was supposed to be delivered today but it's still sitting in Fort Worth, TX so that sure isn't going to happen.

the only way to transfer the locked saved data (like RB2), is to do a full system transfer between 2 PS3s. It will move, not copy though, so everything from the original ps3 will be gone.

Does the 120gb slim have sd card slots??? I can't tell if they do or not...

None of the slims have SD card slots. The only difference between different versions of the slim is HD size.

Yeah, card readers were removed in the 40GB model in 2007 and haven't been back since.

Actually, I believe the SD slots have been gone, even from the fat versions, since they removed backwards compatibility. So, starting with the 40GB version.

PlayStation Network will undergo maintenance tomorrow, September 21st. Maintenance is expected to start at just after 8 am Pacific and will last for several hours, until approximately 5 pm Pacific. During this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home or Account Management, and may encounter difficulty while signing in to PSN.

Because this maintenance window overlaps the normal PlayStation Store publish, we’ll be making new content available tonight.

I believe FW 3.50 comes out tomorrow, which enables 3D Blu-Ray...so, I am happy about this.

Also, as for MOVING files from one PS3 to another. Not sure if people GAMESHARE, but does it move ALL of your accounts and do the whole de-activate/activate your account?

They now have a PS One imports section, with Cho Aniki and Gaiaseed being the first two titles (these are also half off [$2.99] for Plus members).

The 3.50 firmware is up now, I just got hit with the upgrade notice. Guess it's nice to get it out of the way before the scheduled downtime...

^^ same here. Now if only I had a 3DTV and a pair of prescription 3D glasses to go with my new update I'd be all set.

-ohbfrank- How many people does this update affect? Less than .5% of the user base? Yet 100% of the user base has to sit through the terrible update process. Makes sense to me. Why not roll it out with the next FW update, which we all know will be in roughly 3-4 weeks.

Hopefully with my PS+ account, it already D/L the update for me by itself.... :)

Got my PS3 back today. It appears to be a different unit based on the serial number so hopefully that HD corruption issue is gone for good!
Edit-Turns out I was wrong it is the same unit (I was looking at the wrong number). What's strange is the BD drive sounds quieter than before especially when ejecting a disc. Not that it was overly loud before but it's much quieter now. So far so good with the HD, have had no problems downloading and installing demos.

Hey I got PS+ as well but haven't gotten around to implementing that feature. Can you tell me how I get to it? Is it in the settings somewhere?

It's in System Settings > Automatic Download

the new update also allows for grief reporting from the XMB menu for when someone sends you those chain emails, you can report it right away.

If it is someone on my friends list who is sending those spams they usually won't remain on my friends list after my third warning in as many nights. I will happily report those fricking unknown random spammers though.
