They only promised monthly. But I did enjoy weekly updates. Nice that they're giving you a heads-up on what they're pulling; it sucks to get home on a Tuesday and suddenly find that what you wanted to get has disappeared.

And for PSN+ members, be sure to grab Kahoots. It's a cute little puzzler and the best thing about the game is that all your level instructions are sung to you by a giant yarn bird with a clothespin beak.

I'm starting to think that PS Plus is supposed to be confusing, to get you to keep coming back to see what's new. You don't know how long the stuff is going to stay, whether it's a week or two or more than a month. I wish they'd mark the expiration date for each item in the store.

Is there a way to turn off the Trophy 'noise' when earning a trophy? Its disctracting enough for a pop up to happen during the story line after beating a chapter, but the sound is unnecessary

Hey, the less you promise, the less you have to deliver.

I can't get enough of that "noise". I feel empty if I go a week without hearing it.

I'm getting tired of receiving those messages from other users claiming that you will get free PSN credit for sending messages out to so many friends. Do people really believe that shit?

Hey, they get people to pay for virtual items of clothing and furniture in Home, so you're clearly dealing with a fairly gullible subset here.

Has anyone actually received any money (PSN credit) like they were told they would? I mean I have some people that have sent me these types of messages more than once or twice. It even has me wondering if somehow their accounts are hacked for mere moments to mass send this shit out to the friends in their list.

I've deleted a couple of friends who seem to send these out all the time after the third time I send a note saying its bullshit - look it up on the internet. Really if after three times there's no response from the sender ("sorry!" or "Really!?" ) then I don't need to clutter my friends list with mouth breathing imbeciles. Sorry to be so harsh.

I agree, I despise chain mails, and if someone isn't smart enough to stop sending them after I tell them it's a hoax then honestly I don't feel they are at the intellectual level to be on my list. Call it a "stupid test" if you will

Nice douche reply!

At least Johnny's was  I dont mind it too much, it just distracts when I beat a level and it happens during the cut scenes.

I've heard that if you buy the Warhawk expansions, it turns the trophy sound off.

Not sure if it's true, but certainly worth a try.

I tried it just for the hell of it. It accepted the code. Shame I can't access Home since my PS3 keeps resetting everytime it tries to install the latest Home update.

So while playing Uncharted 2 earlier this evening i noticed the fan. It seems to have gotten much louder. I can literally still hear it even with the sound blasting. It's an 80 gb mgs4 system.

I googled ps3 80 gb fan and got this as one of the first results:

http://ps3fannoise.blogspot.com/

Has anyone tried this?

Michael Corvin 08-09-10 07:45 AM

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs

Interesting. I've been debating dumping my 60GB because of all the fan noise. No one ever believes me but it's louder (and more frequent) than the 360 ever was. Not good for a system I bought to mostly play movies. It's very distracting.

Go into Game Data and delete the Home data. When you go back to run Home, it will have to DL and reinstall (do it overnight) but then you can access it. If you're interested.

I’m still surprised by all of the fan noise posts I see here. My launch 60GB unit is still as quiet as the day I got it. If it wasn’t for the blue light, I wouldn’t even know it was on half the time.

Mine just started to make noise with the last Blu Ray movie I watched this past weekend. Apparently, it hated It's Complicated as much as I did.

Hailey G 08-09-10 01:09 PM

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs

My 80 GB just started making a ton of fan noise in the last month or so. I have it standing vertically, which I know is frowned upon by most of the community, but it never gave me any trouble until recently. I agree that is is very distracting when watching a movie.

Thanks. Weird way to update but it worked.

Poster and shirt were just decent at best. But I shouldn't complain as I refuse to pay for anything in Home.
