They have free games all the time. Usually every month they come out with new ones. Out of the 60+ games that I've downloaded from PSN, I'd say at least 45 of them have been free. And don't forget the DLC that they give away every now and then (Red Dead Redemption and Uncharted 2 come to mind. Both games had ALL their respective dlc for free at one point).

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7251/7...62b8de04da.jpghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8430/7...65eb49fd4e.jpghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8144/7...15c4829a13.jpg

Notice the shiny new things we’ve put on the packaging! What does it mean? Why does Ratchet look so good in green? If I didn't already have the GoW1+2 remaster and GoW3, I'd definitely get that collection.

Aren't all of them already available individually, without extras, on the PlayStation Store?

All but Ratchet & Clank currently.

I never did get to GOWIII. I might have to grab the collection instead. Can you use multiple PS+ month codes like 360?

Not sure why the article leaves it out, but:
Ratchet & Clank Collection
Ratchet & Clank
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Remastered for HD, Full PlayStation Network Trophy Support and 3D
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo

I guess the Playstation Blog felt it was redundant to mention the content of that release yet again since they just linked to their previous posts twice in the first line of their Blog post. Perhaps they wanted to avoid having to answer the same two hundred "Is Ratchet : Deadlock included in the Ratchet & Clank Collection?" questions in the Comment section of this Blog post as well..

 Totally missed the link. Guess I was focused on the pretty pictures.

You're right about the pretty boxes; those have to be among the coolest re-release box art ever. If I didn't already own every bit of game content in both sets (and a lot of it twice already), I'd be tempted to re-buy. And while getting the R&C collection was a foregone conclusion already, it just makes it seem better in that awesome packaging.

BTW : both InFamous and GoW Collections will be $39.99 each. The wording in the blog post is a little deceptive there.

 It's a really great deal at full price.

They're pulling Just Cause 2 (one of my favorite games of this generation, actually) and Lara Croft this next week. Figure on at least one full game coming in next week!

Probability it'll be something I already own : 99.875%

Quick question guys,

When I get dlc, where does it save? Ive run out of room and have to start removing installs. Also, do I have a threat of ever losing dlc? How do I make sure I never lose the crap I pay for if my PS3 ever dies and I gotta buy a new one

Also, I just got Mortal Kombat and Batman GOTY and each come with a movie I have to instal on my PS3. If my PS3 dies do I lose these forever? The DLC for these expire so if I lose my PS3 after that expiration date, am I screwed?

Oh and I just started watching the first ep of The Tester. Had it on my PS3 since 2010  Are there more eps? I just have the first and cant find the others

You will always have access to it through your download list. That is as long as you keep that PSN name and maintain access to it. Also, you can download most content to two different PS3s.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

Sounds good, Thanks! So if its on my dl list, they know i paid or whatever and can download it again whenever or where ever as long as its to the same PSN name. But if I delete the saved data for games with DLC, will I have to DL all that stuff again if I uninstall a game?

I also found the Tester eps. I think I want to see more cuz that host chick is hot! Now what the fuck do I do about a bigger HD...this one is full!

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

For the movies, the account needs to be on the same PS3 unless you deactivate it for video watching after the fact.

And yes, most DLC is tied into the Game Data Utility Save File (not saves as in where you left off).

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

If your ps3 dies, you can call a number and they'll de-authorize your dead one, so it won't count as one of your 2 systems for DLC anymore.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

Quick question for you PS3 gurus:
My PS+ subscription just expired. It's a fantastic deal if you have time to play all the free and discounted games, but my life right now doesn't support that so I don't really want to renew. However, there are a couple of games that I got free under PS+ that are still installed and I'd like to purchase them individually so that I can continue playing them and maintain my scores/trophies/etc. Is that possible? If so, how does that work?

Hailey G 08-09-12 12:40 PM

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

I think you probably have to uninstall them, then repurchase, re-download, and re-install them.

I don't know if an uninstall will delete your game saves, might be best to back those up first just in case, and reload them after you re-install.

Your trophies will be the same even if your game save gets blown away, as those are tied to your PSN ID.

Decker 08-09-12 12:42 PM

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

You should be able to highlight them on your dashboard, hit the triangle button and select "Purchase" option to get the full version again. I assume your game saves and trophies will still be valid -- no reason why they wouldn't since you still have game saves present, but I couldn't swear to it.

Yeah, if this works it's much better what I suggested. I didn't know it did this.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

Also check out each game and make sure it doesn't already work. There are a number of games that don't have the subscription flag on them and will continue to work even after your sub expires. I haven't tried this personally as my sub is still active, but I have read about this online.
