You know what's awesome? Downloading infamous 2 to my ps3. What's not so awesome? It's been a week, and still only 60% done.

I got one for some odd reason.

I got 4 from a different seller that recently sold out, got them in 10 minutes and all worked. Apparently these are the codes won from an uncharted promotion

I now have ps+ until 10/31/2012 for only 26 bucks, now that's a damn deal. Posting this in the psn thread also so more can see it.

<strike>Did anyone else order these? Did you get a card in the mail or in your email? I never got either and was supposed to have it by 11/3, apparently.</strike>
Never mind, got it. I see now it was sent as an eBay message. I've not seen anyone do that before, but I haven't bought a code off eBay in years..

I guess Sony reads this thread, because a couple of hours after I posted about my missing $10 credit, I got a PSN message with it as an attachment.

I have 2 PS3s. The one in my bedroom is on wireless. It's a 160gb slim. No issues at all with the wireless until recently. Now I'm suddenly getting a DLNA 7531 error message. I also have a Panasonic player in the same room on wireless and it has no problems staying connected.

The PS3 is on firmware 3.72.

I read that the error means bad internet connection or something along those lines, but my laptop has 0 issues with wireless and the $100 Panasonic doesn't have issues either. But now my $250 PS3 does. Even though it worked perfectly for several weeks.

I also disabled the media server, which didn't help. It had been on, but again, the PS3 was working great until a few days ago.

Any ideas?

From my post in the video game deals thread

Apparently according to targets ad the 1 year ps+ memberships are 14.95 each. The ad shows the 1 year card with 14.95 under it. People are having good luck getting them to pricematch their own ad for them at that price.

Thanks for posting this, glassdragon. The cards rang up for $39.99, but they matched their ad. Two years of Plus for $28.78.

Success (with some work) for me as well in Culver City Target in LA. I got three cards for $47.

It took calling the manager and the checkout guy told me I was pushing the envelope, but I was happy to get it and very friendly about it all.

Question: I finally upgraded my fat 60GB PS3 to one of the new 160GB slim models. What is the easiest way to transfer everything over (movies, games, saves, profiles, etc). Do they have some system transfer option like the 360 does?

If you have an external hard drive you can just do a system back up under settings and then just restore on the new system.

I believe the HD needs to be formatted in FAT32 though for it to work

Yeah, that's correct. The HDD has to be formatted first.

If the original 60 is working, you can just connect the two units with a cat5 cable and transfer from the old to the new unit. I find that to be the easiest.

Hulu+ didn't want to load for us on the PS3 yesterday (gave us an error message) even thought it played on our phones and computer (we signed out each time so the account was only on one device at a time). Any ideas?

Thanks, I'll give it a shot when I get home. I have a 1TB external HD, so hopefully that can be formatted in FAT32.

This won't work for copy protected saves though. Best method to be sure you get everything is to network them together and use the system transfer utility (or alternatively, PSN+ Cloud backups, which is the only other method which will allow you to transfer a copy protected save file to a new system)

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

Note that when you do the system transfer, it will wipe everything currently on the new PS3. So if you have anything on the new system that you want to keep, you'll have to copy it to USB storage, then copy it back after the system transfer. If you have a copy protected save, use the online storage feature if you have PS+.

So wait, can't I do a system transfer and transfer the copy protected saves and games I bought on PSN? Isn't that the point of transfering it all to the new system and wiping clean the old one?

I'm pretty sure it will transfer everything. I was just pointing out that anything you may have put on the new system so far will be overwritten. I suggested USB storage and online storage for saves you may have on the NEW system that you don't want to lose.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

OK, gotcha. Yeah, there is nothing on the new system yet. Played a couple movies, but no games. Nothing to lose so it sounds like the system transfer is the way to go. Thanks guys.

The system transfer worked with no issues. It looks like the data is still on the old system though, but it shouldn’t be an issue because I can always reformat it if/when I sell it.

Next task is replacing the 160GB hard drive with a 320GB. Does anyone remember if there was a video or walkthrough somewhere in this thread?

Replacing the hard drive is easy, as long as you're careful and don't strip the screws. There's one screw that holds the hard drive cage in place, you pop that out, and then unscrew the hard drive from the cage. Then you put the new hard drive in the cage and screw it back in.

Probably would've been easier to do it BEFORE you did the system transfer though, because now you'll have to do a backup to an external HD and then restore after you replace the drive (you can restore copy protected saves from a backup to the same system, just not a new system).

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

Yeah, I was wondering why you didn't replace the drive first and then do the transfer.

Actually, unless you already have a new drive, you might want to wait, since drive prices have shot up due to the floods and won't be back to normal until next year.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

Well I didn’t really know the best way to do all of this. The 320 GB hard drive is already in my old 60GB PS3 which is the system that is getting replaced by the new 160GB slim one. So I figured get everything on the new system, wipe out the old one, then do the hard drive swap. Make sense?
