I might be in for Trials HD if MS ever gets around to adding my 800 points from the October deal.

How does san andreas control on the 360? I'm so used to playing with the ps2 controller.

Coworker gave me a 20GB HD to try out, she says she got error 98 or something on it.
I have an Elite with the 120 GB hard drive. Can I connect this hard drive to my console, just to see if it works for her? Or will that 'confuse' the console? |

I was hoping for 400 points on Serious Sam. Has anyone here played it? Worth 600 points?
I liked the one on the OG Xbox but it always locked up on me and I never could finish it. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
If you still have it, it's backwards compatible.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
It's pretty fun. Don't remember any issues with the XBLA version locking up. I thought it was The Second Encounter that was on sale (from the XBLA thread). Is it both?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I think I saw on CAG that the first is on sale for 800.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
A couple of questions since I'm apparently now in the market for a new 360 (old one RROD'd - E73)
Does the new 4gig model have a place for a hard drive (have an existing 120gig drive) And, anyone know of any good black friday deals for new systems? |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Don't the new, slim Xboxes have a different HDD design? You can't put your old 120 gig drive onto a new slim xbox...

I think the new ones have an internal HDD (instead of the older ones that snapped onto the side).

4gb model does have a place for a hard drive, however your old 120gb drive won't fit in there. You can jerry-rig the setup which would have your hard drive sitting outside your console, or you could try and find a new drive casing (off ebay? not sure.)

I plan on upgrading to the 4gb unit because it is flat black vs the glossy of the 250gb, and then either use one of my old HDD or ebay/Amazon a used Slim 250gb HDD. Just make sure it is an official Microsoft HDD and not a generic drive, could get your console banned. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
The slim HDDs online, though... are they hacked together? I see those every once in a while, but figure that the risk of a console ban isn't usually worth the discount...

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
For what it's worth, I got a 120GB "official" drive off ebay a year or two back that wasn't real. I had to hack it myself to make it fully work (with backwards compatible stuff.) I never got banned, but I have heard of it happening before. I frankly wouldn't trust getting one of Ebay.
But I was able to get a 250GB Slim hard drive brand new off Warehouse Deals for $90. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
ok.. Im sure its been discussed in here.. but Im too lazy to go hunting
the discount thats being offered for a family gold membership, covering up to 4 units if you dont have 4.. can you use some of those for multi years on single units? if not, can you share with friends, or is there anything that verifies they are on the same subnet? |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
In the FAQ they generated about it they said that technically it could work for friends, though they did kind of poo-poo the idea. I don't think they are doing subnet filtering to confirm, IIRC they mentioned the kid going to college and taking their live account with them on a different xbox there as a typical scenario.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
ah yea, kids to college makes sense
and i guess if the codes are only good for a year from when purchased.. wouldnt do any good to try and stack any on a single or a couple consoles |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I can't find it on the new xbox.com Marketplace site, but there's a pretty nice free Premium Kinect theme available from the 360's marketplace.
--------------------------- Ethics question : I got one of those new rotating D-pad wireless controllers from ebay through buy.com. I liked it, but the left thumbstick squeaks. I called MS customer service to ask how I could fix it. They created a job number and gave me instructions to mail in my squeaky controller and they'd send me a new one, but they informed me that they won't pay shipping costs to send it in. I put my controller in a box and took it to the post office. There I discovered that with insurance it would be over $9 to mail the controller back to them. I decided it wasn't worth that much for a mild squeak on a $47 controller, so I just left and came back home. I tried to contact Buy.com to see if they would take the return, but to no avail since this was an ebay purchase and just left things be. Now today I got a box from MS. They sent me a new controller. No instructions or anything. I feel I should return the old one, but still don't want to spend $8-$9 on postage. What should I do now? |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Do they have your CC info? If so they could charge you for the replacement if you don't return one.
