Yeah, first game was PC only, sequel is multiplatform.

Yes. It's still sort of the graphics benchmark for high-end PCs with its Predator-like camo effects and its high system requirements. I'm really curious to see what it looks like on the 360. Regardless, this is one of the main reasons I got a second graphics card, so I'll be getting the PC version for sure.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this concept. If my wife and kids were mainly using the older model in the family room, I would leave their profiles on that model and migrate my profile full time onto the new one in the man cave. Then they wouldn't need to mess with the USB to play games in the family room, right? But they'd still need my profile to play XBLA games. And since my son plays Lego Star Wars under my profile, he wouldn't be able to use his game save on the family room 360 without migrating my profile over (there's no way my wife would be able to figure this out). There's no way to copy the save info from one profile to the other, right? Man, this is a hassle.

You can't just have the same profile on two 360's, or two memory sticks at the same time and whatever one is online at that moment is the active profile, huh? I just assumed that was the way it worked.

You can have the same profile in two places simultaneously as long as they're offline. However, they'll quickly get out of sync for things like achievements and whatever data some games write to the profile.

Easiest thing you can do for stuff like your son's save being tied to your profile is to make him his own profile/save in those games and start over. (Also quit being a game-save-sharing cheater!)

As far as XBLA games, just always buy everything on the primary console and then everyone will have access to it there regardless if your profile is there or not. 360 DRM grants two licenses for each purchase: one to the profile (play anywhere while you are signed into XBL) and the second to the hardware it was purchased on (or first downloaded to in the case of xbox.com queue). It's this second one that allows anyone (most notably the original purchaser) to play on that console offline. It also explains why the DRM migration tool on xbox.com was such a nice feature added after all the RROD and failure by Customer Service to do this automatically.

Put your profile on a USB stick. Leave the others where they are. An Xbox can only support 2 USB sticks at a time so there's no point trying to give everyone their own stick and moving all over the place. Make sure you save your games in the right spot (hard drive for "Man Cave" games, USB stick for family games you may play in multiple locations). ed note: this is one feature I'd like to see MS improve. Simply have the 360 default the storage location selection screen to where my profile actually resides.

This really isn't that complicated and many of us have been doing it for years. If you need any other clarification, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the help, pinata. For the game save, the problem is my 4 yr old boy can't really figure out how to sign himself in (and my wife is useless in that regard too, playing Dance Central under my profile all the time). I thought that the Kinect ID would take care of that and auto-sign in whoever was in front of it, but it doesn't exactly do that. Maybe if I disable the auto-sign-in, it might?

You have to disable auto sign-in, and the person has to wave.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

It might, I really don't have a lot of experience with Kinect IDs and turning off auto-sign-in.

I think you'd be surprised how easy it would be for him to learn how to sign in. Many games try to force that when they first look for a save file.

Try signing out and firing up LSW and see what it does. It may bring up a list of profiles. Just have him pick his and go from there. Even if it doesn't, it's still pretty easy to teach a kid that young how to sign in. If it's still a problem, I would think that it won't be too much longer before it's not. He gets older every day, right? ;)

The Secret Armory will complete my DLC for boarderlands. Other than that, Winterbottom is the only other thing for me.

Secret Armory is great (as is Claptrap). They both have tons of content that really extends the game more and more. The only DLC pack I'm missing is Mad Moxxie, but don't really think that one appeals to me much.

BTW, how crazy is it that I'm still playing this game weekly after 15 months? Or that I'm still only level 41 after all that time? How the hell are some of you in the 60s?

Once you set up the Kinect ID thing it is really easy to sign in. They sit/stand in front of the thing and wave at the screen - it then scans their face and logs them in.

Also, my daughter (6) has no issue signing herself in with the controller. She chose her gamerpic and designed her avatar so even if you have a kid who can't read they can recognize their picture. FWIW her account isn't even a Silver account and is only local because she wanted a name that was already taken. As far as I can tell though, the sign in procedure isn't any different for local/Silver/Gold.

Suuuuuuure that's her playing Dance Central.

Honestly, the carrying (and forgetting) of my profile back and forth via thumb drive was a pain in my ass. So I ended up getting a cheap hard drive for my downstairs Xbox and a 1 year sub to Xbox Live for $35 and just hooked my kids up. The basement Xbox is now the "community" Xbox and the one on my 3D TV in the bedroom is MY Xbox.

The Bulletstorm thing has been so gratuitously pimped by Cliff B that I think it's going to be a letdown. He keeps "tweeting" about how great it is and his dev house constantly reminds us that you get d/l exclusives for Gears of War 3, etc. I'll try the demo, but I'm not expecting much.

I'm assuming that has something to do with the game and not some manly advice?

What I find even more crazy is that I have all 4 DLC packs and have yet to play the game once. Maybe someday when I finally finish Fallout 3, I will start.
