Xfinity On Demand — Coming Soon to an Xbox 360 Near You
http://blog.comcast.com/2011/10/xfin...-near-you.html They are bringing more: http://majornelson.com/2011/10/05/xb...-transform-tv/ We have nearly 40 world class TV and entertainment providers coming to Xbox LIVE including: Bravo, Comcast, HBO GO, Verizon FiOS and Syfy in the U.S.; And that makes sense, at least from Comcast, customers pay a lot for a cable box. |

You'll still need your cable box, of course. :( And that makes sense, at least from Comcast, customers pay a lot for a cable box. |

Damnit, why won't my provider add HBO GO!

This is only useful to me if you don't need to have cable to use it. I'd gladly pay for HBO2GO.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
sounds like a "free" cable box. if you already pay for comcast cable, internet and xbox live gold.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Not really since you can't watch live TV.
HBO2GO in the big screen is the best addition for me. I hope they can deliver in HD. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Verizon's press release says they will be showing some live content from their streams. I'd expect things like ESPN won't be included since they already have a separate partnership deal. I can't seem to find if you'll be able to DVR content - I doubt it, but that would be great.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Quick question - I just bought a LG 55" 3D LCD HDTV and see that there is one component connection (the my cable TV would use) and then 4 HDMI inputs. Since my 360 is an original version (no HDMI) - what options do I have (other than buying a new 360) in order to get it to work? My AV receiver (Sony) has inputs, but I can only use the HDMI output from it with HDMI input devices (so my PS3 works). I'm lost here. Any suggestions?

I bought a component switch box from monoprice that I like, it can be contolled via remote and was under 20 bucks.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
My six year old af receiver will convert component to HDMI. Are you sure that won't work?

This is the switch I use. It's nice because I don't have to switch anything on my surround sound. |

NP, The fact that it has IR was big, as I could add the ability to switch it to my main remote. I have an old TV with only 1 HDMI input that broke, so now I have everything hooked up via component. Even better, the grandparents are able to get the Blu Ray and surround sound working for the kids now, which used to involve lengthy explanations, blank stares, and giving up.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Is there any deals right now on the XBox Live Gold Membership? My subscription doesn't expire until May 2012, but I would pad more time if there is something good right now. The best I could find is Amazon at $48.99. Also what about 1600 points?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Finally got my 360 controllers in the mail yesterday. Ended up getting these three items and couldn't be happier.
I still suck horribly at Dirt 3 playing at any level above casual  but I got a better feel for the game with the controller. So I was able to tweak the difficulty a little so I can gradually work my way up to intermediate. :) |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
There is a new system update today that adds no user-side features. Just another pre-release groundwork update.

Just keep checking, we're all good about posting the deals as they are found. |

Going back through my billing history, this is the last time a weird amount of points got added to my account:
5/12/2011 Points added -- Points 310 I imagine that's from the rewards thing. I currently have 110 points pending (plus 20 from October survey). I imagine those 110 will post on the 15th of this month and the 20 points from October won't count as pending until November, else they would have flushed the 110 I have now on September 15th. You all follow that okay? ;) |

320 is fucking weak. There is no reason not to go to 500gb or even 1tb these days. However, I can look forward to getting a code for LSWIII on ebay on the cheap.

Yeah, I don't understand why Microsoft, of all companies, limits our HD space capabilities so much.
I know I'll be tempted to get this, because my 250GB always stays nearly full. 7GB free right now. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Yeah, I don't mind the proprietary drive, I've been a gamer for 3 decades, I've been conditioned for it, but at least offer something substantial.
