Another <s>Beta</s> Preview program: https://connect.microsoft.com/XboxLI...XBOX-JJH3-FPVG
Don't need your S/N or Console ID to register this time. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Good news Cloud Storage for Game Saves and Xbox LIVE Profile is listed under what to expect.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Now if only they'll figure out how to let me default my local storage location to something other than the primary hard drive (for example, wherever my profile is stored).
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Now if only they'll make it so that when I start a game and have a hard drive as the only location that's what it chooses by default and doesn't make me have to select it.

 Why has that stuff not been implemented by now? It's been the better part of a decade, guys!
I'm gonna harass Lollipop about it now... |

Well nobody has been accepted as of yet so we can say what we want for now :D

I don't know why they bother with the fine print, all the details are always posted in the videogames blogs (joystiq, kotaku, etc.).

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
So I see this article (http://consumerist.com/2011/10/i-wat...xbox-live.html) and it reminds me of a similar situation that happened to my friend recently.
So he's playing GOW3 in Horde with random people. Some guy gets pissed off that my friend keeps taking his kills. This guy would down someone and my friend would finish them off. So this guy yells at my friend, who yells back. Then, the other guy says "I'm going to hack your account." Sure as shit, a few days later my friend logs on and all his points are gone. So the two questions I have are, what does one gain by doing this and are points transferable? I'm pretty sure they aren't transferable, so then it goes back to my first question. Since points are tied to his account and were used when he's logged in, I thought he was the only person able to access the content. I know you can remote log in to your account from another console, but isn't the downloaded content tied to my friends machine? Meaning, once this other guy logs on to his own account, he can't use it, right? |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Content has two licenses:
1) The profile that originally purchased it (while logged in to XBL) 2) The machine on which it was originally purchased (regardless of XBL status) |

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
No, those are separate licenses. It's what allows anyone that isn't you to play the content on your machine.
It's why we have to transfer machine licenses when you buy a new one. It should be reported to MS and they should be able to at least track down and ban the hacker's console from the service. At the least he should get his points back. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I don't know how, but I was hacked about a week ago. I caught it early thanks to an email confiming 2 purchases of MS points - 1 for $50 and one for $20. The charges have been returned to my bank, but I am still waiting for my account to be unlocked. I really want to know how this happened as I only log on to my 2 machines at home via the USB drive and through Windows from my work PC. This really sucks and I am glad that it was only my account and not my sons too. Card has been canceled and I will not have one associated with my account again.

You can now register your console for the dashboard beta, you have to get a key and download a app which your run on your 360 to confirm your console is in.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Has this happened to anyone else? My subscription was running out for Xbox Live so I bought a 12 month card on Amazon, and I applied it. I'm checking out my CC activity today, and I see that a day ago MS charged me $60 for a 1 year renewal on Live. I'm calling them now. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you have to call MS to remove auto-renewal. What a scam that is.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Exactly why I never give them my credit card.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I guess last time I let my subscription lapse and rather than buy a card, I just put my credit in. That automatically turns on auto-renew. They canceled both years, refunded my credit card, and gave me a 1-year card. Now on my options, auto-renew is off.
The CSR said that when you sign up through them directly, it automatically turns on auto-renew. I still say it's bullshit you have to call them to turn it off. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Be sure to remove the credit card from your account, just in case. You can do that on the website.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
So how can you check to see if auto renew is on? And can't you turn it off somewhere on their website?

So I just added a new card and am good till 2013. When the original expires in 2012, are they going to try to charge me then?
