re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Something is wrong with my Xbox. It is ultra slow when trying to access anything connected to Live, including downloads. I cannot download the Nuketown 2025 map (left it for 15 minutes and its at 8%). I cannot even watch Netflix, it just stops every 5 minutes. I cannot access the marketplace either, it tries, and then boots me. Before anyone asks, my NAT is open and I cleared the cache.
I know it's not the connection, as the PS3 is on the same network and works fast and flawlessly, as do the other devices on the same network. Edited to say - I can also play online games on that same XBox like normal. I've been playing Black Ops 2 all weekend, but I cannot download the new map. |

With today's ESPN on xbox update, it finally works with Time Warner Cable.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
No dishnetwork or directv options though.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Do you have dish or directv Internet service?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Cox cable

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Espn3 has never been tied to the TV service, but rather the ISP. It's not the same as hbo go.

Nah, it's a different idea. If anything the HBO Go concept is the stranger one. ESPN at least found a way to give non-subscribers access via an Internet connection. HBO Go is a bonus for subscribers.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Now that we can use 32gb USB sticks, is there an approved list anywhere of ones to get? I keep coming across reviews that say how slow the transfers are with the 32gb stick they decided to get...

I believe both CAG and Joystiq had a running list of approved jump drives. Problem is finding those threads and if they've been updated for newer models/brands.

Microsoft's Xbox 720 will unveil a new version of Kinect, a Blu-ray drive, and an A/V port for watching and recording broadcast TV, at least according to details leaked by Xbox World.
First off, the Xbox 720 will introduce Kinect 2.0. Microsoft has been as publicly mum about the next version of Kinect as it has about all details concerning the new Xbox. But a company document leaked in June touted a higher level of accuracy, stereo imaging, better voice recognition, and the ability to track four players at once. A Blu-ray drive will also be part of the package, a rumor that's been around for a few years now. Other features will include directional audio, an input and output for watching and recording TV shows, and an "innovative controller," noted gaming news site ComputerAndVideoGames.com (CVG). Last February, Xbox World said that the redesigned controller would come with a built-in HD touch screen. Microsoft is also eyeing AR (augmented reality) glasses for the 720 at some future stage. Codenamed Durango, the new Xbox would be powered by a CPU with "four hardware cores, each divided into four logical cores" and 8GB of RAM. Dan Dawkins, Xbox World's editor in chief, told CVG that "Xbox World has been at the cutting edge of Durango coverage for over 12 months. Unless something really dramatic changes, everything...will be revealed long before E3 in June." CNET contacted Microsoft for comment and will update the story if we get any information. http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged...232144853.html |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Kinect 4 player support is all well and good but I'd rather it see it handle 1 or 2 players much better than it currently does. As for a blu-ray drive I'm all for it as long as the unit it quiet. I won't be watching a movie on a system that is as loud as my 360.
I honestly wish they wouldn't mess with the controller at all. The only controller to come close to being this amazing was the Wavebird. Replace the guide button with some other button if you must but leave the rest alone. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
The controller is the one thing that is 100% perfect IMO. I'm actually hoping we can use the current controllers but I know better.

As far as shape goes. I agree. I could do with a smaller battery compartment and make it a tad lighter, but yeah easily my all-time favorite controller.

Yeah, if it's some sort of little screen where the guide button is I suppose it could work, but I worry about batter life and cost.

6 more months until we know for sure. Unless they decide to make the announcement before E3.
I wonder how many leaks they will have. |

MS sent me a helmet code on my 360 but I only have had XBOX Live for six years. I was wondering why I got one when I wasn't a ten year member.

Sell it! I read somewhere you might get up to $50 for it!

Can anyone recommend a good racing game for kids? My son (4) adores cars but the few that I have are too difficult for him (Forza 2, Burnout).
