It wasn't 500 MS points. It was 500 bonus Reward Zone points.
They had a pre-order offer about 6 weeks ago where you got 400 points but I don't think that lasted long.

According to 360voice.com, the 10 biggest single day for any games they've tracked:
I wonder where today will rank on their charts. My best guess is bumping GTA IV and moving into #4. It still cracks me up that Texas Hold Em is #1. They gave it away free in the early days of the 360 (before I got one) and I guess there wasn't much else to play so everyone started playing poker right away.

If anyone with mics is looking to play today let me know. I'm up for campaign or matchmaking. Very much a noob. I haven't been into Halo since part 2. Scorpy Gkar is the gamertag.

Pretty amazing graphics improvement from 3/ODST to this. Loving it so far...

The score, so far, is really lacking compared to previous Halos. Far too understated for my tastes.

Re: Halo: Reach - Fall 2010
popped this in last night to try out the campaign. i started some character customization, figured i would jump into a quick slayer match, and then 4 hours were gone. the MP thus far has been very impressive. i may hold off for my campaign run through until this weekend.

I have 2 levels left in the campaign. It's Halo, nothing more or less, but I forgot how much fun multiplayer could be as long as you don't have any assholes in the group. I logged on to play 1 game of Team Slayer and ended up trying out 5-6 different modes.

I tried campaign yesterday. Just completed three missions in Heroic (hard) and they were pretty doable, not easy, not hard, you just have to take your time.
I really love that you can customize your character and that's the one that shows in campaign too. Pretty amazing!

I'm sure everyone's already found a good deal on Reach and already bought one, but Fry's deal is that they have the game for $44 AND, with a Reach purchase, you can get 12 months of Live for $29.

I'm going through the game on Legendary with a buddy right now and it's not too bad. As long as you take your time and kill enemies from a distance, you'll get though it.
Also, I'd love to get some multiplayer going. My GT is Doctor West.

Maybe I'll try it. I don't go in for Multiplayer and after playing the first three I thought I'd never play a halo game again. Still I've heard so much good stuff about the game.

Going to be picking up the Reach Edition Xbox 360 to go along with my Halo 2 Xbox and my Halo 3 Xbox 360.
Have to get it from Amazon due to gift certificates. Question is, should I buy it now with the the $20 video game gift card bonus or do you guys think it may be $20 actual dollars off sometime in the next few months?

I thought you hated the Halo series?

Yeah, the shotgun is the most worthless weapon in the game on Legendary. Well, maybe the sword is just as bad, but those aren't as plentiful as the shotgun.

Re: Halo: Reach - Fall 2010
fantastic fucking game!!!!!! (look that up in the dictionary!!!!)
Best Halo campaign yet....great pace, perfect difficulty(on heroic) and epic battles....
Finished it on Heroic, and I have to say that it was not in any way hard at all. All the reviews actually had me a little scared saying it was the hardest Halo game yet, and that the game scales with extra players making it even harder...the game does scale, but I did not find it any harder than the other Halo games.
I played single player, 2 player and 3 player.....the jump from 1 to 2 players is minor...I really did not see enemies get any harder, and your shield drops maybe a hair faster...but not much. Having a second player makes the games almost easy on Heroic, and this will be the first Halo game I plan on doing on Legendary with a friend. When we added a 3rd player we noticed a significant jump in difficulty. Your health falls fast, and enemies take a bit more to take down. I found 3 players to be harder than 1 or 2. Still not a hard game though.
small spoiler that I have no idea how you would not know about, about a combat situation in the middle of the game...
The game was amazing looking....Still wish facial work was better...Halo Wars has better face work than Halo Reach..
