Re: Borderlands
Thanks for the offer and the tips from the other guys....I found alright....not exactlly in the wide open....in fact you can be standing fairly close and still not see it. I think with my first run with the Hunter there were three of us and we ran into the same thing. Yep...the marker is slightly off. Thanks again.

Re: Borderlands
I killed Crawmerax (twice just for grins) using the method below.
Chew/Donuts, if you want to finish that mission one night, let me know. It'll take 15-20 minutes tops, and you can pretty much just stay downstairs and talk amongst yourselves.

Re: Borderlands
1) It's a variation of it...the twist being the rocket launcher part at the end which allows you to take out the spot on his back without coming out of hiding...which allows you to kill him with classes other than Siren.
2) The guy in the video is doing a lot of ducking (which is unnecessary), so it's hard to tell whether they are there. I think they all disappear when you kill him. They are really the only danger, as they sometimes get to you before you can get to the spot...but once you're there, nobody can see you, and they all just start doing the kill-me dance.
If you want to just do it yourself (I think it's a one-person deal), you'll need a good electric gun for Crawmerax and the maggots, a fire gun for the green minions, an acid gun for the regular minions and a powerful non-elemental rocket launcher for his back. Killing the minions may be entirely optional.
He drops a ton of stuff, but I hardly picked anything up either time...even going in split-screen the second time.

Re: Borderlands
It seems that's the "glitch". I don't consider that a glitch, if he can't see you, he can't see you. For me a glitch is more like breaking the game to advance, or something like that.
And I guess there are no minions since he can't see you.

Re: Borderlands
It's sort of a glitch. You aren't just hidden from view, as you can stand right up. If you get far enough in that little corner, they simply don't know you are there...even when you are shooting them (the latter part being the glitch).
Either way, I don't feel sorry for Crawmerax. F' that guy!

I tried hiding in that spot many times and got slaughtered each time, so I just went online and killed him tons with ease with a full group of 4...

Re: Borderlands
I did it again this morning...second try.
I've been finding some great weapons the last few days (but not from Crawmerax). I have an 1100 Volcano sniper (but with 3 round capacity) and a 950 with 6 rounds. Donuts gave me a scoped Hellfire SMG with 145 and a 12.5 fire rate. And I found my first Pearl weapon a combat rifle with acid damage...Atlas I think.
And my new favorite toy is a 6-round, scoped Pestilant Defiler revolver with 6xx damage. The Defiler has the same effect as the Volcano in that it multiplies the effect of the elemental with every hit.

Re: Borderlands
If and when a group gets up for the Crawmerax deal count me in...if possible and an opening. I'm only at Level 44 but we've done most of everything else with the exception of the Crimson Armory.
On a side note I have a Hunter character Level 47 that I'm ready to go thru Knoxx so if some are wanting to team up put my name in the pot.

Re: Borderlands
I've got a small favor if someone can help. I need to get some stuff to my 'Beserker' character that both my Hunter and Siren have in their "Bank" at Moxxie's. Mainly some Beserker mods, a better rocket launcher, shield and shotgun. If someone can help me with a "swap meet" today I'd appreciate it. See me on just PM me. Thanks

Re: Borderlands
I'm probably at 6-7 times as well and same thing.
I think I found my only pearlescent gun in the vault, and it wasn't one of my weapons of choice (SMG/Sniper/revolver).

Re: Borderlands
Are you finding better weapons in the Vault on the "It's like Christmas" quest than on the original blow up the vault quest? Can't remember the original quest name... I've farmed the vault a bit, on second playthrough, but on the original blow it up quest. Not seeing much weapons of any value with my Hunter at level 61, working on killing Motorhead next.

My son got a Chopper on the first try. I went back and killed him 20+ times and never got the Chopper to drop again.

Re: Borderlands
We didn't find those missions...need to get on that and check them out.
The Chopper sounds fairly worthless based on the description in the Wiki. It sounds kind of like the Double Anarchy SMG, except that is uses more bullets than it fires rather than fewer.

Re: Borderlands
Just picked this up and started playing yesterday. Trying to avoid spoilers by reading through the thread, but is the general consensus to play through solo first and then go MP, or is it fine to jump into MP right away?
Loved the first couple missions I did.
