Re: Borderlands

Don't be surprised when 90% of the shots you fire record a hit of "0 HP".

Re: Borderlands

Exploited the glitch tonight after several false starts, but once I got it to work I beat him in 10 minutes with my hunter. His weak points take a lot of damage from lighting sniper rifles and once I got him to stand still I took out his eyes and limbs very quickly. However, getting him to turn his back is the tricky part. Basically my co-op partner waited below and as soon I needed to shoot his back he came up in the elevator and played target. I put a couple of clips into his back and we were done.

Getting the glitch to work is tricky. They will see you at first and probably will kill you after you get to the spot. You will need to kill a nearby worm for your second wind and duck down and wait a few seconds. If the glitch works they will move towards the middle of the area and just wait there roaring in your direction. Then you can stand up and shoot at will. If it doesn't work well try, try again I guess.

The loot was awesome though. Got a super rare Cyan (i guess that is the pearlescent stuff) lighting machine gun, a really strong Cobalt Volcano Sniper and a 104 shot machine gun. Gave the other rare stuff to the co-op help including a nice 2000 point shield and will probably go back to get more loot at some point. Just glad to have that and the level 61 achievement out of the way.

Re: Borderlands

Definitely is. There's no way you can do it solo.

Sounds broken.

What's up tonight fellas?

Re: Borderlands

I should be on but maybe with Mass Effect 2 but just in case somebody is on and needing a "sub" let me know. However My Siren is only a Level 45 and she's been thru Knoxx but haven't beaten Mr. Badass yet. I wouldn't mind starting up my Hunter though and he's just a Level 48. Like I said just in case. (around 7:30 Central)

Definitely not broken, it's intentional. It was described by Gearbox pre-release. The quest is called "You. Will. Die."

It's a level 64 monster, armored to the nines, with 3 different minion types.

Re: Borderlands

For Chew/Donuts...I do have a Siren in the mid 50s...in case we get desperate.

Call me stubborn, but I'd like to just give it a good 3-man effort (or even 2). I'd also like to beat it with my Hunter just on general principle.

Re: Borderlands

the unthinkable has happened, i am tired of this game. i didn't think this would happen. i bought general knox on release day, but i have no desire to play it. i have spent 120+ hours with the game, maybe i will get the bug again soon.

Re: Borderlands

Only 120 hours before the game gets tiresome? Maybe I should put my copy up for sale before the word gets out on this stinker!

Has anyone tried killing the Crawermax in the first playthrough?

Sure, I'm up for tonight.

But, I'm afraid I have to agree with wlj. I'm ready to move onto something different. I certainly want to finish Knoxx, but I'm not up for a "new campaign" as you suggested. Sorry.

Cool...maybe down the road a bit. I need more co-op games.

He is the same on both playthroughs. We beat him last night on the first playthrough. I will go after him next on the second playthrough since we have beaten Knoxx in that as well and have unlocked the quest.

No. There are videos online of people taking him down solo with a Siren. I don't think he can be taken solo with any other class unless you get very lucky or use the glitch spot.

Sure and why not.

Hopefully we won't have to break out my siren.

If he can't join us tonight, we'll have to save that final fight for a night we have donuts along. It sounds like we have plenty of warning.

Call me stubborn, but I'm ready to tackle that thing whenever.

This, of course, will end badly.

Heh, sounds fun. I'll be there tonight. I'm just hoping to get through all the knoxx content before GoW3 shows up.
