Went through the underdome levels last night with a buddy, we didn't realize there was a weapons drop until a while through the second and kept getting oranges. I wonder if we missed a bunch of cool items.

Re: Borderlands
is it a known fact that the game can get kinda buggy with the enemies from time to time?
i was dealing with Sledge in the safehouse and at one point he got like stuck in the wide open, just kinda standing not doing anything, not throwing his fire balls. i was able to snipe headshots for criticals from the pit and kill him fairly easily.
happened to another psycho something who was higher level. i blew a rocket at him with car and he got stuck near me and i was able to blast off shots right in front of his face for the kill.

I can almost 100% guarantee you you didn't miss anything special. Moxxi's Underdome never had shit for weapon drops for us. You're much better off raiding Knoxx's Armory or taking on Crawermax.

Knoxx gave me a lot off cool stuff on the first visit, but I've tried a few times since then and haven't gotten anything good at all. I'm sure it's because I'm still on playthrough 1 though.

Yeah, that happens from time to time. I never had it happen with sludge, but you can often end up being completely safe while shooting guys. The downside is that you can get yourself stuck too though.

Re: Borderlands
starman, tell me something...let's say i respawn at one New-U after an exit, and then i travel to the next New-U right where i need to be for my next mission. i saw the light turn green and when i exitted and then came back i was back at the old station and now have to travel again. why is that?

i'll be using the hunter one with my penetrator snipers that i finally finished my collection of. all 4 elements + non-elemental one. should be entertaining if nothing else. pistols are still better at the end of the day though.

The special sniper ones you were talking about the other day right? Well congrads on getting them. Are these Level 61 only and if I may ask where you found them?

I've been trying Crawermax, but haven't been able to pull the ledge trick since my first attempt and I bailed on that one because it was so late. (I have no clue why it's not working anymore). Hopefully my friends get caught up soon.

It makes a big difference in first to second playthru as to weapons and such in Knoxx. It also makes a difference with team members levels or at least some think. We did "Craw" last week or at least two did who were 61, I was 59 and another was 50. We did it three times and the drops were the pits.

Re: Borderlands
could someone please help me with this game saving issue i seem to be having or at least not understanding...
i finished all the missions in the Arid Badlands, including side missions (last one was blowing the pipeline), went back to Fyrestone Bounty Board and cashed in.
then went into the next set of missions in Dahl Headland. met with Ernest, saw the terminal turn green and thought i was all set.
i exitted out of the game. when i went back into it i was in the middle of Arid Badlands at a New-U station i had not been in many missions, not even back by the Bounty Board.
could someone tell me why i didn't get back into Dahl? thanks.

I think that's happened to me before but here's a thought....
Did you actually turn in any mission in Dahl....that is turn in and collect? If not then that's the reason.
Like I said I think this did it to me on one of my characters also. After you finish Dahl you'll go to New Haven which pretty much opens up all sorts of places and missions. Go back to Dahl and do a simple mission, turn in and collect. Then exit and go back in to see if you stay. Also be aware of the "flashing icon" in the upper right corner when exiting....DON"T DO A THING till it's finished.

Re: Borderlands
^ thanks.
no, i didn't actually finish a mission in Dahl yet, the first from Ernest. i thought just checking in with him and finishing that last Arid mission would let me save there and i do always see the icon flashing and always wait, but that never makes a difference of where i re-enter the game after exitting.
if i die, i respwan at the closest terminal i was at, but exitting on own sends me to i don't know where for no particular reason.

Once you meet Ernest he'll give you two missions...free Lucky and Big Game Hunter.
You'll need to take your ride and rocket off the ramp for a Hang Time Award".
When you land go to your left to the outpost you see. You'll enter on the left side facing it. be aware of one or two "Patrols" out there and stay away if you don't care for conflict.
You'll have to fight various enemies to go thru the compound. Look for barrels and shoot them. Fire is good use and along with a solid shotgun. At the end you'll face a "Badass" along with a few others at the gate. Keep a "Transfusion Grenade" on hand for health.
Once done go thru the door and rescue Lucky and set.
Big Game Hunter is lets say a memorable experience your first time. In fact you don't have to do it right away as ther are other missions via bounty board.

Re: Borderlands
but then i just don't understand the point of the terminals turning from red to green and the save icon going off when i get there, do nothing, it saves with unchanged stats and then sends me back to a place that has no relevance. also, i got all the hangtime achievements previously in Arid.
guess it is just one of those things.

Hopefully that clears things up. i think a lot of your confusion comes from you short bursts of game play. If you play for a few hours in a row a lot of these things really start to become apparent.

Re: Borderlands
The terminal things that turn from red to green are save points. If you die, and don't get a "second wind", you will respawn at the nearest save point. that only counts in the same session. if you turn it off, the next time you start you will start at the nearest "New U" station (which will eventually be your "fast travel" stations.)

i guess i just never noticed bc i would complete a mission and then turn off rather than just go to another area and then exit. still rather annoying that you must complete a mission and then exit in order to start back where you left off, regardless of terminal green or save icon flashing.
but, just a minor nuisance i guess. just opened up fast travel so i think it will be fine. just wondered. thanks for clarifying.

Re: Borderlands
It sounds like you don't have access to the Fast Travel Network yet anyway. Once you that (soon, if not already) then you won't worry about that stuff so much.

Re: Borderlands
man, talk about overwhelming. i went into Dahl and i guess i decided to do the last mission first, kill Mad Mel, and then that opened up New Haven and i stupidly went in there and now i have missions there, Dahl and Arid Badlands again.
i knew i should have just stuck in Dahl and now, little consuming.

Re: Borderlands
I generally try to accept as many quests at a time as I can. Most quests you can work on even if you have another one 'active', which is nice for the "Find four Xs" or "Kill twenty Ys" quests.
I usually try to focus on the quests in one area then move on to another, then cash in a bunch at once.
