Yes it is shady and yes it works. Buy a game get a free points card. I used it and bought two clearance games and got two free points cards. Both coupons scanned in fine and took off the $19.99 for the cards.

Is there any info of future DotW sales? I would love to snag Trials but i imagine it will go on sale at some point.

Just the rest of the year. Next week is Shadow Complex followed by The Maw. Beyond that we don't know.

There will be a DotD beginning on Friday. The specifics are still unknown.

Yeah, I'd hold off buying any non-new release through the end of the year just in case it goes on sale during that promo period. But don't get your hopes up too much -- last year the sale included Arkadian Warriors, Brain Challenge and Boogie Bunnies.

So, did anyone else try Alien Breed? It's surprisingly not bad. I didn't buy it, but I thought about it. It has kind of a MUA feel to it; exploring an abandond space station in isometric 3d view. The graphics are pretty good, especially for an XBLA game. You have access to different guns to shoot alien spider things. My main problem was that it got repetitive fast, even in the demo. Still it was pretty fun and I'd bet even better in co-op if you had someone to play that with. I might wait for a sale or maybe just impulse buy it sometime. I did quite enjoy it. It also holds a place of distinction for being the first game that tried to "upsell" you to the full game before you even launch the demo.

Any thoughts? Anyone buy it yet?

I think I read that there was no campaign coop for alien breed. Seems like a game made for multiplayer. Will tryout the demo tonight

Dead Space in a MUA format is my initial impression. I really liked the style, but I did find it a bit difficult at times to tell what exactly was going on. The graphic detail looked really great though, and I like the way you search/activate/manage items and such.

I think it said local co-op only. Which sucks. I'd be more apt to give it a spin if I could play with others online.

Alien Breed seemed a little dark for me, and it was tough to get used to holding the trigger and aiming the right stick to fire, when my hands wanted to treat it like a regular twin stick shooter (although I know it also had the flashlight). Not bad, but not groundbreaking or greatly engaging to me. It did look very nice.

I too greatly dislike those stupid new year's glasses, both in real life and Avatarland.

But more seriously, Worms 2 is on sale today only, so why not get that and wait to see if Trials HD goes on sale or buy that game from Amazon if you don't want to spend more points. I'm not a big Worms fan, but that game is WAYYYYYY better than the original XBLA Worms game.

The first post of this thread does just that. I didn't update it with the DotD stuff because I figure just the one post to bump the thread is enough.

I guess I should clarify. Typically we don't keep track of upcoming deals. They're usually not know much more than a few days in advance. Nothing's official until it goes on sale, so be wary of rumors or announcements, even from Major Nelson.
