I think the game paradigm is still great and has a lot of potential, but this version sucks.

They even forgot that there are supposed to be two different 'cutting speeds' that give more points if you choose the slower one. They couldn't even get the original game right, never mind build anything worthwhile on top of it :(

I also noticed the way the demo is set up it almost seems like they are trying to trick people into accidentally buying the game. After finishing a level, if you hit the A button twice you have just bought the game. They didn't get me with it but I could see it easily happening to someone. EDIT: ah now I see Decker already pointed this out. Well needless to say I agree.

Never had time to buy Maw or Shadow Complex. Better stock up on points cards.

It's really terrible that they do that. It's WAY too easy to accidentally buy this game, I found myself at the Confirm Purchase screen before I even knew what was going on. I've played hundreds of XBLA and Indie demos and never had that happen before. I wonder if I should call or email someone about it. It just seems really wrong to trick someone into getting that piece of crap. I wonder how many of the 150 gamers who bought Qix++ on 360voice.com did so accidentally.

If you're into dungeon RPGs, it looks like a little niche PC series from Japan might hit XBLA soon.

I bought it for $15 and still haven't played it beyond the first 15 minutes.

One day I'll learn that patience is a virtue when it comes to video game purchases (and DVDs, and technology in general).

I'm with you. I played a couple hours worth though. I just hadn't gotten all the way through Splosion Man so that took up my time and I ended up just moving on to other games after that.

They should think about doing a Great Game - Shitty Game - Great Game - Shitty Game schedule for the Summer of 2010 Arcade. One week just isn't enough to digest all the good ones.

I just love the idea that they should put shitty games in the SoA so you don't feel pressured into buying them all ;)

Oh, and there were at least 2 shitty games in there this time with Turtles and Trials HD (not my bag, baby!)

Personally, I felt Trials HD was the best game out during SoA, and I'm looking forward to the DLC getting released later this month.

It was too hard for me to enjoy above the second or third difficulty teir, but regardless, no way would I consider it a "shitty" game. Turtles In Time, on the other hand.....

Yeah, after the smoke cleared, I ended up playing Trials HD more than anything - I liked Shadow Complex just fine, but I had much more fun with Trials HD, for much longer too.

Speaking of Trials HD, I noticed that Major Nelson lists Trials HD as the #1 played XBLA game last week on Live. That doesn't seem possible, does it?

Trials HD is my 2nd most played XBLA title, right behind Pac-Man: CE, which I haven't played much of recently.

Wow. Maybe it's time to fire up Trials again. I haven't touched it since Shadow Complex came out. Since there was so little talk about it on the message boards and such, I had no idea how popular it was, I guess. Checking 360voice, between 300-600 people play it every day, which is pretty darn impressive for a five-month-old XBLA game without online multiplayer.

I really need to get Trials. There was just too much other stuff coming out at the time it was released. Although, oddly enough, I spent more time playing the Trials demo than I did on Shadow Complex.
