That was 15$ right? Gyromancer may be my next arcade purchase.

Tried Gyromancer this morning and it's........Puzzle Quest with a Bejewled Twist mechanic. The puzzle board looks great, very sharp and easy to read. Not used to the Twist mechanic yet -- glad they don't penelize you for not making matches the way PQ does. Not crazy about not recovering HP after battle; can't fully tell from the demo, but that could be a problem later. I'm a little torn on this one -- it's certainly a good game, but I'm not sure if I really need another one since I've barely scratched the surface of Galactrix. The cost of 1200 points isn't unreasonable, but it is enough to give me some pause.

And I bought Peggle Nights this morning  Can't wait to play some this evening.

The Peggle Nights price point is fantastic.

I dunno, 400 points could buy you 60 additional Peggle levels, OR it can get you a lightsaber for your avatar. Obviously, that's a tough call.

Links for demos and new content:

Gyromancer Demo, 1200http://marketplace.xbox.com/xweb/lib...ints_12_12.png, 162MB

Peggle™ Nights Content Pack, 400http://marketplace.xbox.com/xweb/lib...ints_12_12.png, 22MB

Great and expensive day for XBLA. I can't wait to dive in. A little annoyed there's already a $3 expansion for Gyromancer, but I really don't know what a "level" is yet to know if that's worth it or not.

Yeah, I saw that map pack. For 1200http://marketplace.xbox.com/xweb/lib...ints_12_12.png, you'd expect a pretty complete game. They really should have waited a month or something before trying to upsell DLC to the package. Who do they think they are, PSN?

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

Gyromancer needs another run through the demo, this time with me paying attention and not in a party chatting with a distant friend.

I liked it, but I'm not really sure I knew what was going on in the game. It seems I'm the only one moving the pieces unless I hit the X button which does something I don't understand. The help/controls in the game don't seem very helpful yet.

1200 points seems a lot right now, but it depends on how long the game is. I did see one creature (somehow I upgraded to a mega-beast in the boss battle) had a level cap of 70, so that might be a pretty good indication.

Peggle goes on sale for $5 starting next week. Perfect timing for a Peggle + Peggle Nights combo.

Death Tank is also down from 1200 points to 800 points next week. The week of November 30th is Sonic the Hedgehog 2 from 400 points to 240 points.

Not satisfied with the 3 for 50G they did add?

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

You do have to download the Peggle patch (even after downloading Peggle Nights) before those 50 G show up in the game, though.

Oh ok after pinata's post I thought I went blind from too much ..

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

Ah, yeah, I didn't realize you would connect to download the extra content, but then disconnect before playing it to get the patch.

FYI, the new challenges are HARD. Way harder than the first go-round, but that's probably just because of the levels themselves.

Looks like Serious Sam has a release date of 11/24 on the PC. Here's hoping for 11/25 for the Xbox. :fc:

It would be going up against Madden Arcade, which may be a bad move. Don't know how big a $15 Madden Arcade game will be though.

Damn. I can't complain though, it's not like I'm hurting for quality games right now anyway.

Madden Arcade will be the only game debuting on XBLA this week. It will be 1200 points. Hope it's better than NBA Unrivaled at least.

Reminder : Peggle is 400 points and Death Tanks is 800 points this week for Gold Members.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

Puzzle Quest 2 coming to XBLA in Spring 2010. I find this interesting, if for no other reason because I thought Galactrix WAS Puzzle Quest 2.

Here's the story from Joystiq:
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.c...2gamepro-1.jpg

Though we're confident Infinite Interactive's Puzzle Quest 2 will eventually be a mega-multiplatform release like its predecessor, D3Publisher announced that the game's roll-out will start on DS and Xbox Live Arcade. It'll be out in spring 2010, along with every other game you've ever heard of, which means that you'll now have the choice to play all those games or Puzzle Quest. They'll occupy about the same amount of time.

Puzzle Quest 2 will let players match gems as one of four new character classes: War Mage, Inquisitor, Barbarian, or Assassin, using "all-new weapons, spells, and shields." Sorry if you just got over a Puzzle Quest addiction.
