Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
Activision is switching to once a month Mega Packs for DLC:
January:
The Damned – “We’ve Got a Situation Here”
A Day To Remember – “2nd Sucks”
A Day To Remember – “All I Want”
A Day To Remember – “The Downfall of Us All”
Hawthorne Heights – “Rescue Me”
HIM – “Wings of a Butterfly”
Nine Inch Nails – “Closer”
Nine Inch Nails – “The Hand That Feeds”
Nine Inch Nails – “Head Like a Hole”
The Used – “Buried Myself Alive”
If you want everything, it’s 1440 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live, $17.99 in the PlayStation Store, or 1800 Wii Points. If you prefer to pick and choose, you can download just the tracks you want for 160 MS Points/$1.99/200 Wii Points each. As with all DLC released since late September, these tracks are only compatible with GH:WoR. And if you’re on Xbox 360, the Guitar Hero VIP Pass dashboard app is free and makes browsing for new music a heck of a lot easier.

NIN Closer? Do they have "M"-rated songs in these games?

^^ Everyone can enjoy that.
Radio edit or not, I wish Rock Band would get "Closer" and some more classic NIN songs.

That was pretty funny how defensive he was about people successfully pressing a series of five colored buttons in sync with some of his songs.
Maybe Pro Guitar is why these songs are hitting Guitar Hero instead of RB.

Oh, Trent. Back in my teenage years I would've righteously defended his every whim. I still like his music, but now find the notion of a man of his age and level success still raging against the machine kind of silly. The PAIN in his songs sometimes makes me chuckle.

Just so you guys know, they didn't censor Get Your Gunn, so the "You stir me into shit" lyric is intact. This is more than likely going to get pulled, so if you want RARE OUT OF PRINT DLC!!!, then you'd better get it now.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
At this point, why bother to pull or fix it when they have the disclaimer up for the ESRB. I thought Guitar Hero was rated T for Teen?
Contains content that might be considered unsuitable for children under 13 years of age. Titles in this category may contain more intense violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, blood, simulated gambling, and/or use of strong language (which is uncensored).

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
So can you just buy the Manson songs by themselves? "Coma White" is one of my absolute favorite MM songs, and I'd like to get the other two as well, but not if I am forced to buy everything as a package for 18 bucks....

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
I believe a "shit" would get that content rated "M", and therefore the whole game would end up getting re-rated as "M" just because that optional content is available. The ESRB is fucking stupid, but we're stuck with it and they get to make up whatever rules they want.

I always thought it was funny to censor songs, yet I can hear the word 'asshole' spoken on the radio.

Looks like Guitar Hero is taking a hiatus..

It's official: Activision will not make a Guitar Hero for 2011, and has canned True Crime: Hong Kong.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
I completely passed on the latest Pig-Warrior game. I think that giving the series a rest is probably a really, really good idea.

Makes sense, the whole rhythm music genre has gone back to niche now and doesn't seem like the type of thing that would rebound right away.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
Yeah.. I just read this..
Unless they're going to resurrect the series later completely from scratch, it's pretty much dead. A bunch of people from Vicarious Visions (the GH7 devs) just got laid off. 2011 is a shitty time to be a game developer.
At the same time, due to continued declines in the music genre, the company will disband Activision Publishing's Guitar Hero business unit and discontinue development on its Guitar Hero game for 2011.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
So at this point, all Activision will have is Call of Duty and Starcraft/Warcraft. They couldn't say, divert a fraction of the bazillions those franchises make? Nah, it's business, what the hell do I know.
