Thanks for reminding me how much listening to this game would piss me off.

Stop using the damn guitar then!

Would that make the mashups listenable? Rhythm games are so hard muted :(

Mute it and use only the green red and blue stuff on the screen and call it super extra hard expert mode.

Get your ornery old-timer self out of this thread already. All of the cool kids are digging on the mashups and flipping their collars. -ohbfrank-

Sorry, I'm not meaning to :crap:, it's just my medula oblongata that's making be this way.

Have you sat down and played the game? Actually given it a try? (I know you wouldn't buy the thing obviously, but maybe a friend or something?)

Then again..if you're not into the music by itself it probably still wouldn't matter. But, I would strongly encourage you to at least find someone with the game and give it a try.

It's the music. I'm not at all opposed to the individual songs, I just can't stand mashups. I've no problem with the concept of the gameplay either.

I guess I equate it to playing songs in RB I don't necessarily like off the bat. Once I'm in playing them I often times leave with a new found appreciation. Maybe the same would happen?

Re: The Official DJ Hero Thread of BPMs, Faders and Scratches

I doubt it. It's not like I'm new to the concept of mashups or club music or live DJs (hell, one of my friends is a pretty accomplished scratcher but that doesn't mean I enjoy going more than I have to :)), I just can't get into it.

Like JoCo says, I like ponies and monkeys, but I don't necessarily like a half-pony/half-monkey monster.

FWIW - I hate hip hop/pop/rap/techno/whatever the kids are calling it these days. And I really, really dislike mashups. But I'll be shit on in the desert if this wasn't a fucking fun ass game to play. I actually kept it rather than sell like most other review games I get - because it's fun.

Wait...according to these screen pics from Game Informer, it looks like The Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha" is in the game. I'm out.

;) It'll probably be paired with Nine Inch Nails or something and be all awesome probably.

^ Haha, probably. In DJ Hero (umm... 1), there's a mix of Boom Boom Pow and Satisfaction. I absolutely hate both of those songs... but that mix is fun as hell to play in the game. :)

I'm really happy that they haven't gone with a controller redesign. I hate that they all but abandoned the project for DLC, when I feel like they promised something different, but no redesign of hardware means the folks who did put their faith in DJH1 aren't screwed over. I'm sure the double turntable/mic/game pack willl probably be the original price point, but early adopters always pay more, and I've more than gotten my money's worth out of it.

Really excited for this follow up. Hope they start releasing some preview tracks soon.

Hopefully some YouTube videos of the new DLC will go up soon. I might be up for it depending on how the mixes sound.

Seriously...announced the day of release? They are so odd about this shit. And I still HATE that I can't buy the tracks individually. What a rip. :(
