Too bad the game flopped though, the one thing out of that house that was actually new, fun, and innovative, and of course it ended up being the victim of Activision's market oversaturation of mediocre product.

Don't worry...it'll be back with 2, which they already talked about working on before 1 even came out. (Which also hurt it majorly.) I'm assuming that's why we haven't gotten hardly any DLC. Dicks.

I bought it for $40 last week as well, but haven't even opened the box. I should check it out, but havven't gotten around to it yet and setting up yet another peripheral seems like a daunting task to someone as lazy as me. I'm hiding it in the hall coat closet so the Mrs doesn't know I bought this yet. I'm trying to postpone her weekly "We're downing in crap"/"Quit wasting money" lecture for as long as possible.

I was afraid to show it to the wife as well, but I couldn't really get it in the door without her noticing, so I just came right out with it. I started with, "You're going to be mad at me, but..." and I basically told her how this was $120 when released, and I just purchased it for $40. I was shocked by the fact that she actually wasn't mad (despite the fact that she knows I have piles of games that I've never played), and actually congratulated me for saving so much money on it.

Only in America can we spend money and convince ourselves that we "saved" money.

Eww. When you're done with the Anal Explorer, you should check out DJ Hero. ;)

Seriously, it's a steal for $40. Plus DJH2 coming out means you won't have to re-purchase the hardware so !

So I've just been cruising along minding my own business on Medium... not really having any trouble whatsoever and then I just decided to test out Hard, you know, for fun.

Fuck that. I'll see you on Medium.

I'm hoping that they're not tweeking the peripheral in order for us to purchase another one when DJH2 comes out.

The price of the Renegade edition keeps dropping, I think it's down to $75 now at Amazon. If the price stays there or lower, I may use my $20 Super Mario Galaxy 2 credit towards it.

How much DLC has come out for DJ Hero? 6-8 mixes?

I can't believe they didn't have 20-30 tracks lined up for release. Having new DLC every week sure does help keep the game in the spotlight.

I probably would've picked this up but by January I forgot that it even existed.

New DLC costs $$$ to license and develop. The 12 of us who actually have the game are kind of a limited market. :(

Sadly. Plus....they're holding it all for DJ Hero 2.

I understand that sales weren't good, but you would've thought that they had a group making DLC long before the launch of the game to be ready for the first month or two.

And they stated they did. I suspect when sales didn't meet expectations they sat on most of it. That's my theory anyway.

even if they sat on the tracks that were in development, how could they only have 6 done? This was a poorly planned release, i'm so glad I didn't buy in. I have to imagine they know this would bomb big in the months leading up to the release and started cutting budgets then.

edit: 11 DLC tracks have been released since Oct

There's nothing saying they didn't get tracks done and just not release them. ;)

I love this game, but like everyone else, I'm disappointed in the lack of DLC. Hopefully, when DJ Hero 2 is released, we can import all the tracks from the first game. :)

Are there really any expectations for a DJ Hero 2? What would compel anyone to buy it when the original can be had for super cheap? I have DJ Hero and I'm absolutely miffed at the lack of support. While I might buy the game only, there's no way I'm buying anymore hardware. I think Activisiion dropped the ball big time by not have DLC released weekly and keeping the hype going for a DJ 2 release.

Yeah. People were talking about working on it before the first game even came out last fall, but Activision has definitely said they are doing it.

DJ Hero 2 should sell well if they use the same turntable. A new peripheral will deep six it.
