Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
it's a big deal in the fact that if i want to play couch co-op with one of my kids, i cannot just pull out the MU out of my machine and move to the other console. i have to boot the xbox, wait for it to load, wade through the nxe, move the profile, and then go. yeah, it is about 4-5 minutes, but an unnecessary waste of my time.
again, it defeats the purpose of having a mobile profile.

dude, no need to yell. we are all pals here. perhaps our problem is one of semantics ...
my problem is that i am not clear what is meant by "profile". if it is the data associated with one of my playthroughs, no worries. but if by "profile", they mean gamertag, then that is problematic as that is what i keep i keep on my MU exclusively. i checked through numerous forums last night on the bioware site (wow, what a horrid presentation is a message board) and neogaf. i still am not clear on this issue.

Yeah I really hate that part. The same thing's happened to me too. I guarantee they improve the autosaves in the sequel. Even the Bring Down the Sky DLC had frequent autosaves.

Happened to me in that same spot. My problem was the game locked up and bumped me out to Windows. At least that section is not as long as a couple of others - one of which I had to replay all 3 hours of once.

xbox magazine gave it a 9.5......knocked it for repetitive aspects when it comes to small planets, just like the first game, and that the side stories were better than the main story. It is much more a shooter this time, and leveling up sounds less RPG...which upsets me. Also, loot is almost gone this time around, another knock. Sounds amazing though....
oh and no XP for kills....just finished missions...

I think I am going to pick this up next week instead of waiting for the eventual GOTY super-bundle. The $60 TRU gift card I plan to get from TRU tomorrow makes it about $40 net. Plus it just looks incredible and I loved the first.
The new XP structure seems to help control the experience. Won't affect me much since I will do all the side quests first anyway.

I love the first game, and I just could not turn down amazon's deal...56.99...game day release....10 dollar gift card...and some armor I will never use...

I'm enjoying Mass Effect now that I finally got around to playing it. Love the story and that makes up for all the issues this game has. I can't believe a game with so many warts got so many perfect 10s. I have had many issues with frame rate, screen tearing and game freezes. I've even got stuck in rocks and walls and had to reload a save.
Not to mention the frustration with instant death things during missions or while fighting those stupid Thresher Maws.
Overall though it is a great game and I definitely want to finish this and play the 2nd one. I just heard so much about it being one of the best games ever made that I was shocked to find out it wasn't even close.

Amazon does this with special editions a lot....they did this with Dragon Age as well. Why give the discount on a special edition that will sell out anyway? The regular edition, the more they sell the better, so they promote that one.

I'm a sucker
I don't know, I was debating the same thing when Amazon had the pre-order credit added on their page. I just really liked the first game and felt that I would dig the little extras and the in-game bonus.
