Yeah, looks amazing, and it seems like they've addressed every issue I had with the last game: cut/paste missions, technical problems, etc.

The only thing is that I finished the first game the week it game out - that was a while ago - I'm afraid I don't recall much of the story, certainly not the details.

Same here. I read up on the summary of the game, but hell if I can remember what choices I made during it! And much of the story seemed completely new to me, despite the fact that I played through the whole game (and most of the side quests).

So play through the game again. That's what I did.

I'm playing through it again and having a great time. I forgot how good the first game was.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I ordered this last summer at EA Store with that Sims 3 Gift Card deal at Best Buy. Apparently I'll get some sort of Armor thing with the preorder, I guess.

I could never finish the first game since that stupid Mako car thing kept getting shelled. Maybe I should finish it before starting this, but I don't know for sure...

edit: After watching that IGN review, I guess I'll have to go back to the first before playing this one. This might take a while....

Mass Effect 1 in 5 minutes... a little funny, but it actually does recap everything that happened, and if you played it a nice refresher.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Having just finished Dragon Age, I'm going to try and give Mass Effect a quick run through with a new character. I figure I can hit all the main planets pretty quickly and maybe grab a few achievements that I didn't do on my other playthroughs.

I agree, and for someone who has not played the game that would do nothing for them, but for someone that has it does a nice job in 5 minutes. I really hope they explore the Shadow Broker stuff from Mass Effect more.

Thing with that is that I was happy with the way I played it and the choices I made (obtained all party members no one died and I was a lesbian!), I'm not sure if I can recreate that specific outcome again, and I wouldn't want to muck up my old save - so I'd like a refresher on my own specific playthrough.

I don't think you can finish ME1 without someone dying.

You could always load up the last save and review your journal to see what choices you've made. I loaded up my very first playthrough at a save right before I went to Ilos so I could do the Bring Down the Sky DLC. After reviewing my previous choices and being satisfied, I did the DLC then beat Ilos and the rest of the game.

Wow, I hadn't seen any of those videos for the different classes. Totally awesome. So, if you were say a soldier in the 1st one, do you have to continue along with that class or can you switch it up?

from what I understand you can switch up....

Also, the buzz is really building for the Vanguard class...I think I am going with that first..

after a google search, looks like you can switch it up. i'm gonna have to rewatch the videos to decide if i want to switch it up. i like the idea of having biotic powers as well as decent weapons.

Same here. I was a Lesbo Infiltrator but I did have 1 death based on a choice on each play through.

I played through "Good" the first time through then I played again as "bad". I traded ME1 but I have still have 2 saves from the 2 games. Now I'm not sure how this will work out on ME2.

They showed on one of the videos there's an option on the start up menu to upload the save so you shouldn't need the first disc.

Well finally finished ME again took about 28 hours, and I did all the side quests this time. Got the Completionist achievement and Paramour (for making it with the blue chick). Now bring on ME2!

oh and no XP for kills....just finished missions...

That seems to make much more sense in a game without respawning enemies.

Oh ok, thanks. I'll have to check that out. I wasn't so much worried about having the disc as I was worried about how my 2 play through will influence my ME2 games.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I have a ME1 save file, but I played the game with the default settings. I want to play ME2 with a different class.

Am I stuck with the same class if I import?

You can adjust your imported character's appearance and class.
