I can't wait. This game is so good, I'm going to be sad when it's over.

Don't worry. I did the same thing you did and he wasn't loyal.

No. He stuck with me during the whole mission, and was selectable during the "who will do what?" parts.

They've planed a lot of DLC this time around - so much, that there should be enough missions and stories/scenarios doled out over time, filling up the time leading right up to ME3.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I'm pretty curious what kind of other DLC we'll see coming down the pipe. The Normandy stuff was real cool, but day one DLC just makes me think they were things planned but didn't have time to finish (especially given ME2 was delayed a few months anyway).

Although given that the side quests in ME2 have all been immensely more interesting then say, Bringing Down the Sky, hopefully Bioware is on the right track.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

The main reason they set up the whole "Cerberus Network" card with every game (besides an incentive to buy the game new instead of used) was to be able to better funnel all the DLC they have planned to each person's game.

One expansion I heard about is
Spoiler:
a porn DLC where all the female characters get together for some hot orgies.

I just started my 2nd game with a vanguard and the shotgun's not doing much for me so far. I loved it in the first ME so hopefully it'll get better after some upgrades. Haven't used the assault rifle yet.
I am playing Vanguard. Personally I like the Heavy Pistol and Assault Rifle from a distance (Cryo or Inferno Ammo of course) and then when enemies are spaced out I LOVE charging and finishing off with a shotgun to the face.

or, it's EA wanting to have total control over a game and not relying on Microsoft. taking the DLC out the hands of MS so they can get all the money.

Unless they give it free...there is no way for 360 owners to get DLC without Microsoft getting a share. ...

almost finished with second playthrough...god I hate the mineral shit..just a way to add another 1-3 hours to the game...

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I mean would it have been so freaking hard to have at least one more upgrade late in the game that actually made the probe stuff faster? Like make your circle 50 times bigger or something...I see NO reason to have this in the game...if they wanted to make us "earn" our upgrades, and makes us feel like we had done something after getting enough crapium to make a gun upgrade...they failed...

Maybe the future DLC will be more of an expansion like DA is getting. That'd be my guess.

Holy shit!

I just did the
Spoiler:
Joker mission.

That was simultaneously exhilarating, hilarious, scary, and tragic. The first game has nothing on this one.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

42 hours and it's done I spent way to much time on the stupid mining

Spoiler:
Everyone survived. I used the Justicar and Thane. Justicar's reave ability and Thane's warp combined inflicts a lot of damage on the Harbingers and Thane's throw field is great for husks and the collectors on the platforms.

One thing I'll be interested in for ME3

Spoiler:
What part the Rachcni are a going to play. If you saved her you got the message on Ilium that she will aid you and since she didn't show up in this game I assume she'll show up in the next

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

This may have been answered already:

After you beat the game, can you go back and do the side missions (the ones you find by scanning anomalies on planets) in order to continue leveling up to 30? If so, I'll just do the main mission now. But if not, I'll have to do all the side missions first.

Yes

One thing kind of funny that I found

Miranda was my love interest during the game, but after I beat the game I went back to her and the same conversation wheel came back up. So this time I selected I'm not interested in her and went down and had sex with Jack. I repeated that with Jack and now Ashley's picture is upright on the desk again

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Ha, that's awesome. I'm doing the final missions now. If I have everyone loyal to me, and am in good standing with all of them, it shouldn't really matter who I use for which sections, right? I have all the ship upgrades, too, including the useless med bay upgrade.

Spoiler:
First section done. I'm using pinata's method as a guide. Legion was my tech, Garrus led the fire team. Hit all the heat valves, one or two just in time.

Second section done. Used Samara to generate barriers instead of Jack. Took Thane and Miranda to fight. Watching Samara take all the energy and blast it back at the Collectors was awesome.

Finally took down the Reaper. There was a glitch where it wouldn't let me destroy the last tube. I had to die and start the section over to get it to work.

And finally destroyed the Collectors' base. I was so glad to see the Collector being controlled by Harbringer die. That guy was such a dick.

Woah! What an ending shot. I need to play Mass Effect 3 now!

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Suprmallet, if your goal is to get to level 30, it would be faster to do it with a new game plus. You get a 25% bonus, and the main missions always raise you a level. Side missions only give 40-120 points...so unless you are level 29, or want to do all the side missions (some are fun) start a new game, and get to level 30 in less than an hour.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Importing a level 60 ME1 character gave a much bigger starting bonus than a level 59-. Has anyone imported a level 30 ME2 character for New Game+ yet? I'm only 220 EXP away, so I think I'll just hit level 30 and see what that gives. Hopefully something of value since an EXP bonus would be completely wasted.

Can you not get to level 30 in one playthrough?

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Assuming there's still 2 planets with 125 EXP quests out there for me to do then, yes, you can.

As I said, I finished it 220 shy of level 30. Since the universe is open for me to do stuff, I'll just go hit 30 before starting the 2nd run.
