or maybe you spent way more time scanning planets than you thought.

They should have made it like that old Genesis game Starcraft. I believe EA made that game, too.

You scanned the planet to see if it was safe to land, and if so, you did. You then drove your little buggy around and scanned for mineral deposits, which you mined. Then you sold them back for various prices.

Sometimes you were able to make a killing.

EDIT:  I meant Starflight, not Starcraft. I have Blizzard on the brain.

I am a little upset that you can't change your class if you plan on playing a new game plus.

With 11 squad members whose powers you essentially control, does it make that much difference?

I didn't know you had to feed your fish after every mission, I went into Shepard's cabin and they were all floating at the top of the aquarium:lol:

yes..If you don't play as a Vanguard you will never get the rush of flying the speed of a bullet into a target. If you don't play as a soldier you never get to slow down time...there are things you don't get to do if you don't play as a class. I agree some of the classes you are not missing much, but the two I mentioned have things you can't experience if you don't play both. I forgot about the invisibility, that would be fun as well.

if you can get Kelly to go up to your room with you she will offer later to feed them for you.

I see what you mean. I'm a soldier and I never, ever use my Adrenaline Rush (slow down time). I wish I could remap my Y button to my bonus, loyalty skill :)

In fact, I was just noticing that I upgraded it all the way to level 4 and that was a pretty massive waste of skill points. Guess I should spend that Element Zero to reconfigure that.

Hey, fox, since you started a New Game+, what carries over besides your class and genetics?

Spoiler:
You get a bunch of money I think it was over 200000 credits, but it might actually be the credits you had when you finished the game. You also get 50,000 each of the minerals, which is HUGE for the Zero element. You get to pick any special loyalty skill from any character that survived the end of the game, which is similar to what to what you already had, but nice that you start out with it. You keep your level, and there is a 25 percent bonus to experience, though I think this carries over to any new game, because it is sort of silly since the game caps you at level 30. You also get to keep any weapons you found, though none of the upgrades. One thing you don't keep is your ren/par points, which I thought you did, but you don't. This sucks, because I really want to have every character loyal going into the last fight, which I was unable to do with one character...I think I can still do it, I just have to be ready for that part...in fact if anyone wants to know the two parts that can ruin your loyalty even after doing the side missions if your ren/par points are not high enough click my second spoiler...

ok only click this part to find out the two parts that can ruin your loyalty if you are not ready...

Spoiler:
The first is Miranda/Jack. After you finish the second loyalty mission for them, does not matter which, it happens RIGHT after you finish both of their loyalty missions, they fight and you have to pick a side. If your Par/Ren points are not high enough, one loyalty will drop back to normal after, and you need 100% of Par/Ren to get them to like you again, which is just not going to happen. Be sure to exhaust all possible conversations with them and have your Par/Ren points high before finishing their loyalty missions (I don't know how high because I messed up on this one)....The second one happens after Tali/Legions loyalty missions. Same story, just have your points high enough..this part happened late in the game, so I was ready for it, but the Miranda/Jack one I did early and ruined my chances of getting everyone out alive.

Hmmmm... I never got that first one and I'm about to meet the conditions for the 2nd. I'm at 100% Par and 20% Ren.

so, you did both of the first ones loyalty missions and they never went after each other?

Spoiler:
did you tell Jack she could not have the files? If so is she still loyal? How did you get to 100% par??? I could only get to maybe 85 percent...

pinata242 01-31-10 12:06 AM

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Spoiler:
No, I let her have the files. Was that them "going at it"? I guess it wasn't a big deal to me. I don't work for Cerberus and I needed Jack

Miranda's still Loyal to me and she's ready to hop on the jock just as soon as there's "quiet time".

I guess I got 100% Par either from my ME1 import or by doing more nice things than you. I'm at 39 hours now and just finishing Legion's Loyalty mission. As far as I know, the next thing will be hopping through the Omega 4 Relay.

All those +2 and +4 Paragon dialogs add up over time. Some of them were pretty big, in the 30-60 range for being super-awesome. Notably, Tali's trial where I just picked the blue option and tore into them while keeping pop's memory alive.

Playing as a Renegade, my Shepard is pretty scarred up now with glowing red eyes. Kinda cool. Already hit Disc 2, but I haven't done any of the loyalty stuff yet. It almost feels like there's too many team members.

that must be it...I could not get the game to find my ME1 file, so I did not import a game, so I lost the bonus points. I took just about every par option I could and ended up just under 90..so that makes sense.....grrrrr Bioware...

+15 Paragon, not that it matters

Got a question on the sequence directly after the recruiting is complete.

Spoiler:
When the Collectors attack the Normandy
Spoiler:
When Joker finishes and EDI takes total control, Joker is knocked to the ground. Shouldn't that have liquefied his bones from what we learned of his disease in ME1?

I am not sure, there is some talk about fixing Joker, and I could have swore I heard one person say they did something to him, because I thought he was not even able to walk....I was thinking that that was not really joker in the first place, maybe even a clone. It never really shows him living at the start, and when you go to the crash site, his face flashes, just like the other characters that died. Could be a big twist in the next game..

Star Control II had the same sort of mechanic and it was bad ass.

That was Accolade. At it was one of the greatest PC games ever created. I desperately want it and an updated Melee mode on XBLA.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Just finished, I liked it. Though it seems like they're going to need two widely different stories for Mass Effect 3.

I was 220 EXP from reaching level 30 by the end of the game. Should have found 2 more planets with missions, I guess. I never even went to the 4 non-story systems I bought maps for at that one shop.

I did not like the cover mechanics in this game. I found myself sticking to shit I didn't want to stick to too often. Having a simple way to rotate around corners would have made it infinitely more tolerable. Not sure I can hang with the Insane difficulty on this one because of it. I'm sure cover will be essential to that.

But I'm sure as hell going to try!

For anyone who has done the Justicar loyalty quest....

Spoiler:
I didn't get the option to side with Morinth, but who is the better character? I was thinking about going with her in my second play through.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Sorry but I'm in the middle of ME1 but can someone give me a few tips on the following....

I'm playing as a Soldier and have Garrus in m squad. I have his "Electronics" almost half way. At was at "peak 15" and where you have the option using electronics to fry the creatures it said "not enough electronic experience" or something like that. Why is that and do I need to put more points in that or somewhere else?

What's the best way to deal with all the stuff you pick up, ammo, shield mods and weapons? Convert to "Gel" or sell? I'm at the half way mark (level 27) with only 136K an have yet to buy anything which I'm also unsure what's best considering the prices.

Playing as the Soldier there's more areas to add points. I've almost maxed out Armor, 2/3 the way on Assault rifle, 1/3 on both Pistol and Shotgun and three on Sniper. I'm (7) on Charm, maxed on Soldier. Which other areas should I concentrate on maxing out in terms of health, Spectre or weapons?

MrX 01-31-10 11:14 AM

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I finished the game and I was still getting messages about not having enough electronic or tech ability so it's not that big of a deal. I believe Tali has a pretty high electronic ability if you want to take her instead

The only weapon I would max out is your primary weapon. I maxed out Shepard's assault rifle, Ashley's shotgun, and Garrus' sniper rifle and that was the team I kept and used most with those weapons.

I would definitely start selling you stuff you don't use. At the Citadel you buy licenses that allow the guy on your ship to sell you better weapons and you can sell what you don't use.
