I've recommended them a couple times. Real Triggers are a huge improvement on the PS3 controllers. Everyone should get them.

I never finished that on Dreamcast...might be worth going back to.

I wonder if this update will fix those few players who got bricked from the last one.

Just updated the firmware and my trophies still won't sync. Weak.

Tempted to buy RE2 though.

That's funny.

I thought mine was bricked when I got home from work yesterday. It was turning on, but no blue light to show that a disk was in the system.

I updated the firmware, and it was fine. Very strange.

<--- A bit more worried about my 60GB.

Does it stop at a certain % every time when trying to sync? I had that problem, and just had to be persistent. After 10-20 tries, it started syncing again almost like it got stuck trying to send one particular piece of data. Since then, I've not had any similar issues.

I think you can still get codes here... http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions...bad-company-2/

I'm not a huge fan of FPS' but I loved the 1942 series so I can't wait!

Thanks ... got a code.

I loved the original BF:BC.

Yeah, it zips along fine until 91%, then it hangs there for a few seconds before giving me an error message. I'll try again tonight. Thanks for the tip.

This seems to be a pretty common problem for whatever reason. This happened to be about a month ago. I just kept trying to sync... and eventually it worked. It started again yesterday. Then I updated the firmware and everything worked alright again.

But hey, we get a Tuesday update next week. Yay?!

Speaking of synching trophies, how common is it for games to update your trophy list everytime you load the disc? If Uncharted 2 is doing this I've not ever noticed it but everytime I fire up Tekken 6 it updates my trophy list. It presents itself in an unusual way IMO.

There are a few games like that...Fallout 3 comes to mind, and I'm sure I've seen a few others.

I'm not sure why.

so, today I have been getting kicked off the PSN with error code 8002AD23 - its signs me out, this happens in the middle of multiplayer for Modern Warfare 2.

Anyone have any ideas? very frustrating.

I honestly think Sony/IW underestimated the number of people buying the PS3 version. Same thing happened when MW1 came out and Xbox Live was unstable for a couple weeks. At times, it runs perfectly and during peak hours, it's a little laggy. Hopefully they get it fixed sooner than later.

I have a launch 60GB console and I played WM2 for a while (first time doing so) and then it froze after probably 2hours on it, when finding an online game. But I could press the PS button and access those things, so I just quit the game and went to the XMB, proceeding to shut down the console. Then the green light was just flashing and the console would not shut off. Left it for around 5-10 minutes and still no change. Then held the power button and it went off. This had me worried!

When I turned it back on some hours later it seemed to be working as normal so hopefully no damage has been done. I heard something similar happening to somebody else on a forum somewhere and they linked it to hard drive issues, so when back on the console I cleaned out any files I don't use. So far, so good. At least I didn't see a yellow light (touch wood).

As I posted above, I had a similar issue.

Download the new firmware, if you haven't already. It seems much more stable.

I haven't had any issues with trophies.

I turned on my PS3 after a couple of weeks of no use and upgraded to the newest firmware. It's been said a lot of times, but how I hate the slowness. It was Saturday morning or something like that, so I wasn't expected it to take too much time. 10 mins to download and like 5 minutes to install.

I LOLed when I saw the Facebook integration, then did a search and most of the people hate it. It seems that they saw Xbox released it, and they had to put something online too.

I loved the new Pictures interface, I've always preferred my PS3 for Music, Pictures and Movies and now Pictures are easier to browse. I install everything to hard drive though.

[UPDATE] Kaz Hirai confirms premium level will be added on top of PS3 and PSP's online service, which will remain free to play online; PSN revenue expected to hit $563 million this fiscal year.

So if a premium level (Gold) is still free, then how is it premium?

I guess they're going to be adding some premium-only features, but the current services would remain free. When they mentioned stuff like online play and NetFlix streaming, they were just giving examples of things you need a Gold XBox Live membership to get, but that will presumably remain free on the PSN.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

But, what can they add that people will pay?

I don't think a lot of people bought Qore. Are they going to give "premium" speeds to users? So free users download things from PSN at the same speed as now, and premium users download them faster... something like that. And of course add a few (a lot?) of services around that feature.

Custom soundtracks maybe? Cross game chat/invites? They could have more frequent sales on PSN games ala XBL as well.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

Cross game chat was the first thing I thought of. Could be some kind of subscription service to their TV shows and movie downloads too.

I wonder if they'll have custom avatars, maybe even the "likenesses" that the other systems have.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

the TV show/movie is a pretty good guess. I can't think of anything else that would be new content that would make sense to have an annual fee.
