Go figure. My favorite song my the Cranberries is "Zombie". Was literally listening to it last week thinkin how good of a song it is. So we get Cranberries, Zombies but not together. I guess just linger for me this week.

Just Linger for me... I was really hoping for The cranberry's Zombie as well, but oh well, one day

Kinda wish they had gone with older Ministry, but I may get the 3-pack anyway. Definitely in for the two tracks by The Zombies and definitely out for Linger, as I loathe The Cranberries.

Cranberries are one of my favorites. It'll be interesting if they release more songs from them as Dolores does a lot of chanting with Oh-Way-Oh, Doo Doo, ah-ah-ah, etc type sounds that may not translate well into the game.

What are you talking about? That is the stuff that's the best about vocals!

They both have sing-alongs, but the cool part is that it seems they used the live audience, yet have them on a separate track. So they act the same as one of the recorded audiences in the other sing-alongs if you're not performing well. If I'm wrong and it's not the actual live audience, they are two of the best recorded audiences in the game.

On guitar, "I'm Eighteen" has its challenging moments, but "School's Out" is almost a shock to the system compared to the easy GH3 chart. Very difficult. I know you're a drummer, but even if I'd tried the drum charts, my weak input there wouldn't be much help. :)

I failed out on I'm Eighteen twice (still haven't passed it), and Vengeance Is Mine has a pretty tricky second solo. Slash's work on that track is awesome though. I love how his playing style translates to plastic guitar. It's so great.

All of the tracks are very enjoyable from a guitarist's perspective. I'll give 'em a run on vocals tomorrow, perhaps.

Thanks a lot for the reviews. You have convinced me, maybe I will just get the whole pack.

Awesome to see Ministry, hope we can get some older stuff like Stigmata in future as well. Zombies looks good too. Not sure about Cranberries though...maybe.

Are people excited about Lego Rock Band? I have to admit I don't know much about it yet (not sure what info has been released yet) but the idea is a disappointment to me. To me RB is already too kid friendly as it is, I want an adult game dammit :) Then again I do not care for the Lego games in general either...

I love the LEGO games completely. But, no, I'm not all that excited about it as of yet. I'll definitely be interested to see what's up as we start to hear more. I'm really hoping for exportability of it into RB2 (not so much the other way), but I just can't see how they would do that with a game right at release.

I'll definitely be renting this the day it comes out so I can grab the code before anyone else does (if that's how it's gonna work for exporting). Unbelievably, I rented AC/DC about a month after it was on the shelves at the rental store and the code was still unused, lol.

I feel the same way. I wish there was just a filter for swear words so that I could actually play the real songs.

That's one thing I don't understand. The system has built in parental controls. The game should see what the system is set at upon bootup and disallow any tunes bearing a parental advisory warning. (I guess that would entail them actually making a 'disallow' system built into the game)

They could keep all the on disc tracks as edited so they get the teen rating and just have a 'DLC rated separately' notation on the package.

It's funny to hear the song censored, but some guy you're playing with says "Sorry man, I kept fucking up" or "Man, what a shitty song", lol.

Haha

If I'm singing the song, I always insert the word... for example:

"She's been diagnosed by some stupid FUCK!"

I heart Pearl Jam

I've noticed this too. I'm still playing pretty often. I used to play every day (and had the highest streak out of anyone n 360voice). I lost this when I went out to San Fran for GDC and was kind of disheartened. Losing my laptop HDD that had all of my scores/streaks/percentages/gold stars on it was another big blow.

I've been working on trying to finish up all of the Tour Challenges and have got the majority of them out of the way. I love that they re-open when I get new DLC and there's always something to do. I think that when the patch hits in June (guessing), that things will be revitalized. Threads on other boards that I read are still pretty active, so I think it's just around here.

What are you guys' thoughts on how RB2 is doing in the "Favorite Video Game Tourney"? Could it go all the way? It's up against some tough competitors, and not everyone has the love for rhythm games that we do.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

There's already a thread to discuss the tourney. Let's keep this thread free of clutter for RB2 news.

Maybe there's just not much to talk about until news comes around? It's already the longest thread on DVD Talk, is that not enough?

I would be DEVASTATED and shocked if this wasn't included:

Nice.

But I doubt we'll see that song or anything clever like that in Lego Rock Band.

W/O re-listening, is there a bass line that song?

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I just wasted 6 hours and three minutes doing the endlist setlist. I was so proud, 5-starring all but 5 songs, including #75-82, and I never even paused the game...only to FAIL Visions! I played that fucking song for the last 30 minutes and still can't get past 30% of that piece of shit. Who in their right mind would even like or listen to that shit? It's not even a song, it's just noise. This is the first time I've ever played the song, and man, I wish I would've practiced it before starting the endless. What a huge god damn letdown. Fuck you, Rock Band!!!
