Universal, Warners and others don't want their music on the internet unless you pay for it, period. So anything is fair game.

This is the perfect example of where common sense should prevail. You can't play the game on Youtube, the music isn't good enough quality to justify ripping off, and it's nothing but free advertising for everyone involved.

So stupid but "all or nothing" is the name of the game.

Question about the Wii and Rock Band...

Just got the Wii and game last weekend, and want to set it up in my theater/basement. So the question is... will the guitar/drums work if the Wii and usb doggle things are in a storage closet behind the play area?

Someone in this thread called it, I think, but Warped Tour packs are coming this summer:

Vans Warped Tour
JUNE 26 - AUGUST 23
This summer, Rock Band and Xbox 360 will be teaming up with the VANS WARPED TOUR, America’s longest-running touring festival. The traveling punk rock summer camp features a diverse array of artists, as well as a variety of lifestyle attractions and its traditionally low ticket price. Challenge your favorite Vans Warped Tour bands on Rock Band and check out the Warped Tour song packs releasing this summer.

For more information on the VANS WARPED TOUR, and for a list of dates, go to: www.warpedtour.com.

That would probably be me (unless someone else posted something about a Warped pack), but I deleted the post as part of my ongoing New Year's resolution of not posting on the internet while drunk. :D IIRC, the gist of the post was how I'd snatch up a Warped Tour pack in a second and starting a discussion to see if there were any other tour packs out there that people would pick up based just on the tour/bands alone (e.g. without knowing the actual songs).

For me, this is awesome, awesome news! This year has a pretty strong lineup of veterans (Bad Religion, NOFX, Less Than Jake, Flogging Molly, Anti-Flag, Thrice) and "newcomers"/bands people probably don't know, so they could put together a couple of really great packs. I'm really hoping they don't mess up this opportunity to make me the happiest camper of all time.

So lets get this out there. We couldn't export Run to the Hills from RB1 but we can buy it for $2?

*edit - wait, was that one a cover?

Yes I think it was cover. This is a master track.

Both RttH and NotB were covers. Getting rid of "the scream" in the cover of NotB is worth $2 alone.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

 That's cool then. I have no problems getting rid of the cover tunes. The Trooper was in GHII and was a cover as well, IIRC.

Here's the breakdown of previous tunes:

The Trooper (GHII) cover
Number of the Beast (GHIII) master
Number of the Beast (RB DLC) cover
Run to the Hills (RB) cover

... and damn that was fast, Wiki already has the Maiden DLC info.

On the fence about The Trooper and Number of the Beast.

I would LOVE some more Bad Religion in Rock Band, and getting some Flogging Molly in the game would make me pee my pants.

In for the whole Maiden pack. When "Hallowed Be Thy Name" fires up the first time, I will probably cream my pants.

Obviously being released in promotion of the DVD/CD release of their Flight 666 film/live album.....this is the most exciting RB news (for me) since the release of Ten!

Wow.

MAJOR steal for Rock Band here.

Speaking of, I would easily buy a Rock Band: Iron Maiden standalone disc.
