While I'll be getting LRB and enjoying it as well, I'd personally prefer LRB to export to RB2. LRB should be compatible with all DLC already anyway.

RB2->HDD for LRB is fine, but not ideal.

LRB->HDD for RB2 is the way most of the people are going to want it to happen.

If they both export to the HDD for cross-compatibility, I think that'd be overkill and I'd only do one way.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

He could just be talking about LRB being able to see your DLC, not exporting RB2 itself.

Shagrath 05-21-09 08:27 AM

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

It all depends on what features are in each game as to which way I want to export.

Advantages to both

RB2
The game we all know and love with the interface we're all accustomed to
Stars (coming soon)

LEGO RB
???
We don't know what additions are being added in (if any), so it's hard to say at this point.

It'd be ideal if they allowed you to export either way. I'd probably only got LRB->RB2 if all of the DLC is compatible anyways. Although the thought of playing Visions with little LEGO characters cracks me up!

Brian Silva (who works at Harmonix) got confirmation from deliciousbees (Dan Teasdale, Lead Designer at Harmonix) that Lego Rock Band would allow for the integration of existing content. This means that at least DLC will be compatible with LEGO Rock Band and I wouldn't be surprised if we see an "export" feature pop into RB2 around the time of LEGO RB's release.

i won't get it if you can't.

The person who originally said "huh?" deleted their post. I left my reply in case anyone else was confused by the image.

Last night I was playing ""Foreplay/Longtime" and during the second solo when I activated star power, the guitar audio completely dropped out. All of the other audio parts were still going, but not the guitar. This continued for the rest of the solo and came back just before the lyric "It's been such a long time."

That ever happen to anyone else?

I've had this happen before at various parts on different songs. Not sure what exactly causes it. Had it on bass as well once or twice.

If they do an export of RB2 into LRB, I really hope they find a way to keep the scores!

The RB2 scores are meaningless. No way to tell what instrument, difficulty, stars, or # band members...

This will hopefully be addressed by the patch that's releasing (I'm guessing...) around E3.

I doubt it will be retroactive and show old instrument/difficulties. It probably can't even retroactively add stars, except for Gold Stars (as those are unattainable on anything except Expert).

Agreed. I just lost all my scores because of my red ringed 360 and I am only upset because Harmonix won't allow unlock all and save...which makes zero sense.

Shagrath 05-22-09 08:22 AM

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Shouldn't your scores and everything be tied in with your save? I've got mine on a memory card and can go between my two 360's freely and see all my scores.

I was a moron when my 360 crapped and only transfered my gamer profile (and not my individual saves of each game). I was so tired and was not thinking straight.

But where as GH (not II, like RB) allows you to do the unlock code and then it will save (so you don't have to go through the career again to unlock the songs), RB will only allow you to unlock all but it disables saving so I am forced to go through all the challenges again. As a party game and a platform, I don't see any reason why RB shouldn't do the same thing. It allows the gamers you need immediate access to have it while still allowing the "unlock progression" fans to have their choice as well.

If you're using it as a "party game", then I don't see the need to worry about scores.

When the stars patch comes out, I will probably be going through every song I own again to log stars for it on every instrument. That's going to be over 1000 songs played, and I've got absolutely no problems with it. Looking forward to it, actually!

I don't view it as a party game, but the moment I went over 100 DLC (a long time ago), my RB song library looked as big as my itunes, and they enabled exporting...I want more customization. Hence, I really hope Lego RB replaces all and exports so I can get rid of some of the terrible RB 2 tracks.

Why I would like enabling unlocking songs and saving is so I can go through the game and avoid the terrible ones. And when I go on quickplay, the terrible songs will have an empty space like GHWT, Aerosuck, III, and Metallica.

I'm definitely getting some Rock Band time in this weekend. My lady took our son to her parents house this weekend. Having a baby = very difficult to play Rock Band.

The Zombies are completey out of left field and cool. Kind of cruel to release The Zombies and Cranberries, but not Zombie by The Cranberries. Those sneaky Petes.

Time of the Season better be on Lego or Harmonix made another headscratching decision.

Will definitely get The Zombies songs.

Seems like the other cheesy Cranberries song would have been a better choice.
